The institute of economy, management and right (IEUP) implemented software and hardware tools of remote work of Avaya Scopia

The institute of economy, management and right (IEUP) implemented in the summer of 2014 software and hardware tools of remote work of teachers, students and staff of institute based on the innovative solutions of Avaya Scopia integrated with the Avaya Live Engage environment.

The institute of economy, management and right (IEUP), the largest non-state university of the Volga region, since 1994 conducts training of students on the most demanded specialties and the directions. As a part of IEUP of 7 branches in which more than 20,000 students study. IEUP is dynamically developing university, it is included into number 100 of the best higher educational institutions of the country and is awarded the gold medal "European Quality".

At Institute more than 2500 employees work, learning processes and managements are implemented in 22 buildings located in 8 cities deleted on hundreds of kilometers from each other. The managerial structure is centralized that requires existence of a uniform information field and opportunities for personal participation of personnel in meetings, negotiations, the operational solution of non-standard questions.

Development plans for IEUP assume reaching the international level in the nearest future, namely:

• mastering of the Asian educational market;
• increase in number of foreign students;
• expense reduction on management of an extensive network of branches;

For implementation of these purposes the project on implementation of software and hardware tools of remote work of teachers, students and the staff of institute was started. The system integrator San Côme LLC which suggested to use the innovative solutions of Avaya Scopia integrated with the Avaya Live Engage environment acted as the partner in the project.

The Avaya Scopia systems are supported by the joint work modes at the level of high-quality video, a voice and data both on physical entities, and in a cloud with a possibility of use of modern mobile devices.

Interaction happens in Avaya Live Engage in the realistic virtual environment attractive and pleasant for work. The rich functionality provides to participants a broad spectrum of means for effective interaction in the working groups.

Project Implementation

Demonstration of systems capabilities of VKS and the AVAYA Live Engage environment for the management of higher education institution during what the new ideas and concepts on possible use of these technologies were born, as in the educational and scientific plan became the first step by the beginning of project implementation. The specification of the arisen ideas with different divisions of higher education institution allowed to create within several months "road map" on stages of implementation of technologies in structure of Institute. At the same time complex approach and a unique set of consumer properties allowing to implement on the one hand quickly a system and to begin to use it, then to customize interfaces and to implement integration of the AVAYA systems with an electronic management system of the university became the main selection term of solutions of AVAYA and the next stage to increase the capacity of the video server and the number of subscribers of virtual environment.

Project Results

It was succeeded to increase efficiency of holding meetings, to reduce management expenses of negotiating and regular trips of employees and teachers to branches.

The loyalty of entrants and students at the expense of a possibility of video conference by the spriyemny commission and dean's offices increased.

In 2 months 3 agreements are signed with partners from the different countries in training at institute of foreign students, the project of opening of new branch of institute at distance more than 2000 km from head division is approved.

The quality of the scientific conferences held by institute through participation in them by means of a video conferencing of the famous foreign scientists increased. The image of university at the international level is improved.

The quality of education offered students of university today is confirmed by progress of many thousands of his graduates working in different spheres of economy and business.
