Tele2 signed the agreement with the government of the Irkutsk region

The Baikalwestcom company which is a part of Tele2, and the government of the Irkutsk region signed the agreement on social and economic cooperation in September, 2014. The purpose of the agreement is determination of bases of interaction of Tele2 and the government of the Irkutsk region in the field of development of telecommunication infrastructure of the region, increase in investments into economy of the region and implementation of joint social and economic projects.

Agreement signature about intentions solves an important social problem – expansion of a coverage and capacity of network of inexpensive mobile communication. The investment project provides both large-scale new construction, and upgrade of the existing objects of network infrastructure.

Ekaterina Mokhkamova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Irkutsk region: "Having signed the agreement, the company guarantees within an investment program in 2015-2016 will continue expansion of an area of coverage of a cellular transmission network. It will allow to provide services of cellular communication to the population living in the small and remote localities of the Angara region".
