AzeriCard completed upgrade of DWH implementation of technology of IBM

On October 8, 2014 IBM corporation Eastern Europe / Asia and AzeriCard announced project completion of upgrade of IT infrastructure of AzeriCard.

Project Tasks

AzeriCard actively implements modern hi-tech projects:

• payment by means of the bank proximity smart card,
• payment of services of the telephone companies,
• utilities,
• customs duties and taxes,
• penalties of GAI,
• mobile and Internet banking,
• transfers from the map on the card in Azerbaijan and out of its limits,
• introduction of insurance premiums by means of ATMs,
• introduction of deposits,
• various loyalty program,
• e-commerce on the basis of 3D Secure technologies,
• multiple currency cards, etc.

Growth of volume of transactions and entry into the new markets caused need for the reliable, scalable infrastructure satisfying business challenges of the company. Having considered different offers in the market, the IT department of the company made the decision on transition to the IBM FlashSystem 840 system.

The company preferred the solution of IBM on performance criterions, fault tolerance and total cost of ownership.

Project Results

As a result of project implementation the customer reduced time for holding daily bank procedures, including closing of banking day and provided the platform for processing of client transactions. The new solution provided the company with necessary technology resources for further expansion of activity and start of new services.
