On October 29, 2014 the T-Systems company announced gamification system implementation in the company. As the system developer authors of the Gingerbreads program from Technologies of Protection company acted.

Project Tasks

A system is intended for a change works in the company and motivation of employees to new achievements. According to the customer, it will help to set the status T-Systems as "employer of a dream".

Implementing the software solution, T-Systems expects to impart to the workers the culture of mutual gratitude and encouragement. By means of the system of gamification the staff of the company will be able to give an operational feedback about the received tasks, to share the achievements with colleagues, to jointly solve the complex problems requiring team work.

As premises to system implementation the research conducted in T-Systems which showed served: more than 60% of employees belong to "generation Y", they appreciate a work-life balance on the first place, want to derive pleasure from work and demand a permanent feedback and encouragement from the head. It confirms an employee survey of the company, letting know - they are attracted in the company by such values as extra working activity – sports sections, cultural actions (20%), friendly collective (17%), mutual assistance (9%) and a possibility of professional growth (8%). At the same time 97% of employees feel in the company well (this indicator developed from about balance of work and private life, working conditions and so forth). However on a question of encouragement or an award for the last week, 60% of respondents answered negatively. The system of gamification is focused on strengthening of positive impressions of the company, elimination of a lack of a feedback. Other important reason of system implementation - deficit of new talented specialists, despite active educational work of T-Systems in this sphere.

Alexey Toskin, the CEO of the Russian division of T-Systems company, noted: "In spite of the fact that 77% of our employees unambiguously recommend the company to the friends as the employer (according to May poll of 2014), we suffer a shortage of qualified personnel – developers and other IT specialists. Therefore in addition to involvement of the personnel, there is a problem of their deduction. We want to increase an average term of work from 1 to 3 years and to increase loyalty of employees. For this purpose we decided to use the idea of gamification of some workflows. As the gaming platform we took the finished Gingerbreads software product which answers our tasks: the general idea for all employees to tell "thanks" and to extend the idea of encouragement – it has to be easy and fascinating. It is important that game process is built on technologies of the social networks which became de facto the standard and game mechanics".
Evgenia Lyubko, the founder of corporate social and motivational network Pryaniky.com, told: "The system of gamification is not an alternative of salary and is not connected with it in any way. It serves as an effective element of the non-material motivation which is organically supplementing motivation material".
