Research institute of command devices

The research institute of command devices is formed in 1967. Till 2008 the enterprise was headed by the director and chief designer Arefyev Vyacheslav Pavlovich, Hera of socialist work, the Winner Leninskoy and State awards of the USSR, the Winner of an award of the Government of the Russian Federation. Now the CEO and the chief designer is Mkrtychyan Alexander Rachikovich.

Principal direction of activity of the enterprise - development of complexes of command and power gyro instruments for navigation and traffic control of rockets, carrier rockets, upper stages, spacecrafts and other moving objects.

The enterprise develops and puts in operation several types and generations of complexes of command devices of the specified appointment. Specific feature of these complexes is their creation based on gyroscopic instruments with contactless suspension of a detector in a gas flow or liquid. Some of these complexes are instrumented corrections what necessary methods and means, in particular, star directories are developed for. Methods of pre-launch calibration of command devices and autonomous determination of initial orientation of the gyroplatform are developed for achievement of high tochnost and autonomy of functioning.

The important direction of works of the enterprise is creation of power gyroscopic complexes and managing engines flywheels for navigation systems of the spacecrafts (S). The enterprise creates several generations of power gyroscopic complexes for high-maneuverable by S with the precision navigation system, serving for observation from space, the unified number of girodin and the unified number of managing engines flywheels is developed.

Managing drives of different function, sensors, including rotating devices of solar batteries, the system of magnetic unloading of girodin and engines flywheels, sensors of leveling and other devices are developed for spacecrafts and technical means of other industries.

In carrying out scientific research and preparation of the scientific personnel the enterprise cooperates with Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, the St. Petersburg State electrotechnical university "LETI" of V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin), the Baltic state technical university "Military Mechanical Institute" of D.F. Ustinov.

By the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of February 10, 2004 No. 188-r Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Research institute of command devices" is given the status of federal research and production center.

The scientific research institute of command devices is a member of International association of participants of space activity (MAKD) and the active participant of many domestic and international programs implemented by head enterprises of the space-rocket industry.

For merits in creation of the missile and space equipment of scientific research institute of command devices it is awarded the order the Labour Red Banner.
