SAP developed and tests a prototype of the software of Smart Vending for vending machines allowing to involve in sales of technology of analytics and Big Data. Rolf Schumann, the senior vice president of the SAP Platform Solution Group direction in Central and Eastern Europe, in November, 2014 told TAdviser that in 2015 the company expects to release the commercial version of this product.
SAP Smart Vending is held for use in the automatic machines selling different retail articles, for example, food or electronics. The concept of such automatic machine assumes that it is equipped with the touch display, using which, the buyer will be able to log in to receive the personalized service.
New software allows to collect information on purchases and preferences of buyers for its subsequent analysis. By its results, upon the subsequent purchases the automatic machine will be able to issue to each buyer the most suitable options of goods and service.
In turn, the seller will be able to use collected multiple data for optimization of the range of goods in automatic machines, timely replenishment action of goods, formation of different stocks and offers which can be demanded by buyers.
The "smart" vending machine assumes different opportunities of payment of purchase, including payment from the smartphone, receiving optional data about the user from social networks from his consent, a possibility of sending goods as a gift to friends, sendings offers to the seller on the range, etc. It should be noted that at the request of the buyer it will be possible to make purchase in the "smart" automatic machine and without zaloginivaniye in a system, as in the normal automatic machine.
According to Rolf Schuman, by SAP Smart Vending it is conceived as the cloud solution which is not requiring the software installation on the party of the customer. At the same time it will be able to be integrated with its corporate systems. Due to use of cloud computing the automatic machines belonging to one company will be able to be connected among themselves in a single network so the client will receive the same offers in all outlets.
Rolf Schuman also told TAdviser that in "fighting" conditions new software was not used yet, however to it show interest and sellers of retail products begin to test. In particular, the company agreed about testing of this solution with two sellers of food in Switzerland. From large vendors negotiations on testing of SAP Smart Vending are conducted with Coca-Cola, Schuman reported TAdviser.
