2014: Qsan TrioNAS LX U300

The Qsan Technology company provided devices of the TrioNAS LX U300 series which open to the SMB organizations of a possibility of the corporate level in November, 2014 and help to manage IT infrastructure with the minimum costs.

The systems of the unified data storage of Qsan TrioNAS LX U300 provide uniform access to storage of files and blocks with connection on Ethernet networks or the Fibre Channel (FC). Qsan TrioNAS LX U300 supports storage of files through CIFS, NFS, AFP, FTP and WebDAV and also block storage through the Fibre Channel and iSCSI. In the TrioNAS LX U300 series computing powers and possibilities of Xeon E3-1225 v3 processors and the built-in library Intelligent Acceleration Library (ISAL) which provide the optimized data protection without additional costs and without performance penalty and a possibility of the corporate level, including caching on SSD, deduplication and thin-provisioning are used. At the same time the scalability of a system allows to store over 1 PB of J100 given at the expense of expansion units, specified in the company.

Qsan NAS devices are developed taking into account requirements of the SMB organizations. The product line consists of versions of TrioNAS LX and TrioNAS expected corporate and SMB-users. Storage systems of U300 are solutions of the average level with modular construction, opportunities for expansion and the balanced feature set, listed above. The available cost of these systems will allow the SMB organizations to use opportunities about the corporate level without significant changes in a management system and without large expenses, emphasized in Qsan.

A system has the optimized data protection and effective functions among which — Thin Provisioning, deduplication, removal of snapshots, cloning of volumes and remote replication. U300 provides high performance without compromises".

Unlike other equipment suppliers of initial level, Qsan uses the ZFS file system of the corporate level for ensuring integrity glitched and prevention of the file system that quite often occurs at the old NAS systems based on Linux EXT4, specified in the company.

The Qsan TrioNAS LX U300 systems are integrated with Windows Active Directory (including multiple domains) and LDAP that facilitates work of IT administrators. The Unified AUTH technology allows the TrioNAS LX system to exercise data management through the existing Windows Active Directory server. Uniform management of all system through one administrator access point is as a result created.

According to Qsan, in U300 system there is a continuous monitoring of data that allows IT administrators to keep account of activity of all users (adding, change or removal of data). Instant system availability gives to users the chance to immediately begin space usage for data storage, without waiting for creation of the RAID configurations.

The TrioNAS LX U300 system is delivered in the form of the basic module U300-P10 (7x1GbE, memory 16GB ECC) with a possibility of expansion of memory (up to 32GB ECC) and interface a host card (10Gb to iSCSI or 8G FC). Two form factors are offered: 3U on 16 compartments and 4U on 24 compartments.
