2016: Declaration of the termination of release of the Jolla Tablet tablet

The Finnish Jolla founded by natives of Nokia announced at the beginning of 2016 the termination of release of the Jolla Tablet tablet based on own Sailfish OS operating system. The company raised funds for its release in two stages on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo — at first for model from 32 GB, then — from 64 GB of memory ^[1].

The second campaign took place during the period from February to March, 2015. And now in Jolla said that will send only 540 copies of devices to those who made the order one of the first. Other participants of a campaign will get the paid refund (all 21.6 thousand participated in a campaign human.

Owing to an unimportant financial position of Jolla all money will be returned not at once. At first, until the end of the I quarter 2016, participants of a campaign will receive a half, the second half the company promises to list until the end of 2016.

The startup is not going to resume production Jolla Tablet as it is excluded in the current financial conditions of the company. And the company does not want to think on the future.

2014: Start of the crowdfunding project of creation of the Jolla tablet of the same name

The device works at the independent and intuitive mobile Sailfish OS compatible to Android. In the Jolla tablet the 4-core Intel processor with a frequency of 1.8 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of the internal memory, display resolution of 2048x1536 points is used at the size in 7.9 inches, the 5-megapixel camera.

On November 19, 2014 the company from Finland of Jolla started the crowdfunding project of creation of the Jolla tablet of the same name on the website of collective financing Indiegogo and within nearly two hours collected the first part of the target amount - $380 thousand, and less than in 12 hours - more than $600 thousand.

The campaign purpose - to give the chance to community Jolla and persons interested - to take part in the project on creation of the tablet from the very beginning. The community will have an opportunity to be directly involved in development of the Jolla tablet throughout all project. Delivery of the new gadget to the very first participants is planned for the second quarter 2015.

Users can support the project on the website Indiegogo. Jolla tablet cost for the first participants will be $189.
