The Ministry of Health will create medicinal "search engine" for doctors and patients

In December, 2014 the Ministry of Health announced development of a new information system for doctors and patients which start is planned for the first half of the next year. Its main objective will be providing information on the international unlicensed name of medicine on the basis of its trade name and also data on existence of analogs.

The director of the department of information technologies and communication of the Ministry of Health Elena Boyko notes that the developed service will be useful as to health workers – at the statement them recipes, and to patients.

"The new information system is developed to simplify work of the doctor in connection with the set restrictions on the statement of medicines on their trade name, – she told. – The purpose of the Russian Ministry of Health – not to go the way gain of responsibility of doctors for the statement of medicines, and to facilitate work of the doctor, as will allow to make service. Besides, for doctors the information system will become a help resource, as one of instruments of support of adoption of medical solutions".

New service of the Ministry of Health will give to patients an opportunity to learn detailed data about drugs and to look for their cheaper analogs

Department added that to citizens a system will allow to get an information access in a simple and convenient form on the basis of which it is possible to select necessary medicine. A system will provide detailed information on specific medicine: its structure, storage conditions, expiration date, dosage form, instruction.

Practical benefits of new service for the patient, in the Ministry of Health call, including, an opportunity by the trade name of medicine to find its cheaper analogs.

Access to the expanded version of service where medicine belonging to the list of narcotic or psychotropic substances and other characteristics will be specified, in turn, will be open for doctors and druggists.

In addition, developers study ability to integrate service with information systems of the medical and pharmaceutical organizations that will help them to simplify selection of medicines and their analogs, speak in the Ministry of Health.
