The Allied Telesis company announces release of a new line of industrial IE200 Ethernet switches

On December 18, 2014 the Allied Telesis company, solution provider for switching of IP/Ethernet networks and video transmission, a voice, data, provided IE200 – a line of industrial Ethernet switches.

A series of the IE200 switches with the models supplied with Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet ports is the ideal solution for use in difficult conditions, for example, in machine halls of pipelines or for outside application at adverse weather conditions. Switches of IE200 series conform to the highest requirements to reliability. Such requirements are traditional for industrial applications, for example, at deployment of the systems of IP video surveillance, intelligent transport systems, or integration of management systems for buildings as for use in buildings, and outside.

As the organizations aim to increase availability of services and efficiency of use of resources, the number of devices and sensors which are used to collection of information constantly grows and promote adoption of more rational and weighed solutions. Here information arriving in real time, information on environmental conditions or on use of resources in buildings and also information on the movement of vehicles and pedestrians in an adjacent zone belongs. Regardless of the type of information, many similar devices and sensors are located in the environment very different from normal office environment. At the same time in connection with the large volume of the generated data it is not possible to use wireless technologies.

The line of the Allied Telesis switches of IE200 series was developed for use in the most different crucial infrastructure applications and environments where the solutions providing high reliability and functionality are required. Switches of IE200 series are provided by models * with 6 or with 12 ports, both with support of Power over Ethernet Plus technology (PoE+), and without support of this technology, and have great opportunities and functionality. Both models are intended for installation on a DIN rail. It allows to save space, to simplify process of installation and to reduce costs in comparison with standard rack execution.

As today many new applications support IPv6 protocol, and the number of the devices connected to network, as expected, will increase, in future versions of a firmware of switches of IE200 series native support of IPv6 will be implemented that will allow to use switches with a large number of the devices most of different function.

Along with support of traditional functions, such as possibility of the organization of separate VLAN on individual ports, support of IEEE 802.1p QoS, security of ports using protocol 802.1x, aggregation of channels and mirroring of ports, switches of IE200 series support such functions as Ethernet Protection Switched Ring (EPSRingTM) and Allied Telesis Management Framework™ (AMF). The EPSRing technology provides higher fault tolerance in comparison with traditional technologies, guaranteeing a possibility of instant maintenance of network in case of failure, and at the same time allows to minimize possible negative effect.

Support of the AMF platform ** gives to network administrators new opportunities thanks to technology which helps to lower daily labor loading due to automation of many most widespread tasks in the field of management of network infrastructure, such as replacement of the failed equipment, configuration change, updating of a firmware or expansion of network.
