Pelco NET5516 video server

Product
Developers: Schneider Electric
Technology: Video surveillance systems

The product line of Pelco by Schneider Electric devices for hybrid video surveillance systems was filled up at the beginning of 2015 by the NET5516 video servers intended for converting and transfer of video to remote users from 16 analog cameras. New products can broadcast on network at the same time up to 3 digital video flows from each camera with the resolution up to 720х576 px. and by the speed of 30 fps in the H.264/M-JPEG formats, support detectors of the movement and damage of the connected cameras, management of PTZ functions of cameras and conform to the ONVIF (S) standards. Besides, the video server receives a power supply from a source of 12 V of a direct current, is equipped with 16 inputs and 4 exits of alarm and the program detector of the movement.

Pelco NET5516 can serve as a core of an autonomous 16-channel video surveillance system or be integrated into larger or geographically distributed video systems with management through any ONVIF the compatible software, for example, of software of Pelco Endura or Digital Sentry. When using corporate software products the video server allows to create video systems of required scales, to configure the IP equipment, to manage browse modes of the current video, etc. It is important to note that video servers provide remote access to video flows and settings also via the standard web browser.

Implementing possibilities of the modern processor and the updated OS Linux, NET5516 allows to accept, to convert and transport digital video flows from 16 analog cameras with the resolution of 720х576 px. at 30 fps not only in one-stream, but also in 2-, and even in 3-streaming mode. At the same time for image compression the video server uses M-JPEG or H.264 video codecs in all possible implementations (Baseline, Main or High Profile). For decrease in loading of a communication channel and reduction of the general traffic video servers allow to select quality of a flow from 352х288 px., for example, for its viewing in real time.

The program detector of the movement implemented in NET5516 which fixes activities in a frame of each camera allows to monitor disturbing situations on object of video surveillance. At the same time, when using the specialized peripheral equipment the video server is capable to detect mechanical impacts on the body of the cameras connected to it, fill with color of their lens, etc. External security sensors for which connection the video server has 16 inputs allow to expand the list of security opportunities, and for control of the executive equipment it is supplied with four output disturbing interfaces.

Along with broadcast of video flows, NET5516 can transfer the audio streams synchronized with them on all 16 channels (in the presence of the external or built-in surveillance cameras microphones), squeezing them the G.711 codec. Other advantage of the video server of the Pelco brand is availability of interfaces of telemetry Coaxitron/RS-485/RS-422 at it for management of PTZ functions of the rotary cameras working under the protocols Pelco D, Pelco P, Coaxitron and expanded Coaxitron. At the same time the new video server allows to manipulate PTZ functions of cameras in the manual or automatic mode with purpose of transitions on preseta and/or along the programmed patrol routes.

Construction of NET5516 allows to use it as the self-contained unit or to mount in a video surveillance system rack. For protection of electronics against mechanical damages and electromechanical noises the new video server has the metal body, and for transfer of large volumes of video and data it is equipped with the gigabit network interface. Besides, NET5516 supports modern network protocols for fast net surfing and protection of video records against unauthorized viewing and falsification. Power supply on video servers is performed from a source of 12 V a post. current (2.08 A).
