Renault modernizes ASDU

Customers: Renault Russia

Contractors: Fiord
Product: PcVue

Project date: 2014/03  - 2014/12

January 23, 2015 it became known about the project to modernize the integrated dispatching system of engineering systems of the Renault Russia plant. Integrator in the project company "FIORD."

Project Tasks

During the construction of the Avtoframos plant in Moscow in 2005, an automated dispatch control system (ASDU) was created, the basis of which was the SCADA package PcVue version 7.2 of ARC Informatique. The dispatching system made it possible to control more than 3 thousand different technological parameters using more than 10 thousand variable PcVue, and ensured the fulfillment of the main functions:

  • remote control of equipment switching on/off according to the schedule or the manager command;
  • setting of setpoints and modes (temperature, humidity, number of equipment operation cycles, winter-summer mode and others);
  • display of information on equipment operation on dispatcher monitors (including alarm of malfunctions);
  • accumulation and display of statistical information on equipment operation;
  • Generate and display dispatching system logs and reports.

Problem points of the existing version of ASDU

The operation of the current version of ASDU showed the effectiveness and adequacy of the instrumental capabilities of the PcVue. But, due to the rapid development of both system software (for example, operating systems of the Windows and DBMS line) and the increased requirements of the customer, the bottlenecks of the existing version of ADAS and additional customer requirements were identified:

  • The current version of ADAS is running Windows XP, which is no longer supported by Microsoft.
  • In the current version of ASDU, restrictions were revealed in the operation of the automatic redundancy mode of the PcVue servers, which caused a potential risk of failure of the entire system in case of a serious emergency.
  • As the experience of operation has shown, it is advisable to take measures to reduce the load on server hard drives in order to increase their life. As one of these measures, it was proposed to use modern solid-state drives with high speed during the OS boot phase.
  • Need to improve programs in the embedded SCADA Basic.5 language. There are restrictions when printing data from. PcVue
  • New customer requirements for displaying and maintaining schedule, alarm, and archive systems.

The management of the Main Energy Service of Renault Russia CJSC set the task of phased Upgrade of the existing version of ASDU.

The 1st stage of modernization was focused on eliminating the problem points of the existing version of ASDU and implementing the transition to highly reliable modern equipment, on which redundant server stations PcVue should work. As a solution, small-sized fanless servers of uSVR company CompuLab are used. The first experience of using the new version of PcVue 11 showed a significant increase in the overall performance and reliability of the system, including by optimizing the graphical and software component of the project.

Project Progress

The company "FIORD" together with the specialists of the plant "Renault Russia" completed the first stage of modernization of the complex dispatching system of engineering systems of the plant.

Integrator specialists transferred the project to the new platform PcVue 11, carried out a full diagnosis of the project, and performed work to improve it. The new version of PcVue 11 made it possible to improve the server backup system, create a configuration that automatically manages active and passive servers and redistributes tasks between them. The project version control functionality is also implemented.

The second phase is due in 2015. For this purpose, the following requirements are formulated:

  • Supports secure remote system access (web client) over both wired and wireless networks. Development of mnemonic diagrams for remote Web monitoring.
  • Prompt notification via SMS and e-mail in case of emergency or emergency situations;
  • Implement automated reporting based on powerful environment tools

generating Dream Report responses.
