Identity Mixer is technology for enciphering of the confirmed identification data of the user (age, nationality, the address and the credit card number) using the cryptographic algorithm.

On January 28, 2015 researchers of IBM announced start of a cloud technology for gain of personal data protection of users on the Internet, including date of birth, a home address and credit card numbers.

The technology under the name Identity Mixer uses the cryptographic algorithm for enciphering of the confirmed identification data of the user: age, nationality, address and credit card number. By means of use of this technology the consumer can give to the third party only the necessary volume of personal information.

Identity Mixer can be used in the e-wallet in which there are data of an account confirmed with the entrusted third party, in particular information from electronic identity certificates. The party which issued the document does not obtain any information on how and when these data are used.

Identity Mixer allows users to select - what data need to be provided also to whom. With this technology suppliers of web services can reduce own risks and increase trust of customers to a resource.

Identity Mixer is provided for developers as web service on the IBM Bluemix platform - an open cloud solution like PaaS.

Since spring of 2015 subscribers of BlueMix will be able to use Identity Mixer for optimization of the applications and web services. Using a convenient drop-down menu developers can select those data types which they would like to protect, and BlueMix in turn will provide the code which then can be built in their resource.
