Rostelecom provided VPN channels of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation on the Republic of Mari El

January 26, 2015. Rostelecom became service provider for the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the Republic of Mari El. The contract for providing inter-chip digital links with consolidation of objects of the customer in a single network of data transmission was signed with department on the basis of the held electronic auction.

Rostelecom is selected from quality of the provider who offered the most advantageous conditions of provision of services of communication on a ratio the price quality.

Project Progress

Within the contract Rostelecom provided to the ministry in lease 22 VPN channels – at data transfer rate to 20 Mbps for management personnel of the ministry and up to 2 Mbps – for twenty one district divisions of department.

Result

The service in providing virtual private networks (or VPN — Virtual Private Network) allows to integrate remote offices of the client in a single corporate network with a full range of telecommunication services without construction of expensive backbone networks, access networks and their service and also provides guaranteed quality of communication and high degree of protection against unauthorized access. Besides, based on VPN use of additional services is possible: video conferencings, corporate telephony, electronic document management system.
