On January 18, 2015 it became known of start of the 100 kW data processing center (DPC) in Ural Federal University.
Project Results
Engineering infrastructure of a new data processing center helps to support the required level of temperature, humidity, has three independent sources of power supply. The equipment installed in the new center will be protected from a negative impact of ambient radiations. In DPC conditions for reliable functioning of modern computing powers and storage systems are created.

"The innovation project which results will allow to increase availability of services of corporate information environment is implemented, will provide placement of modern computing resources for carrying out scientific research, training of students and graduate students — Irina Bogdanovich, the CIO noted URFA. — Now there is a problem of effective use of the created infrastructure of DPC and filling by its IT and useful equipment".
The computer system is going to be used to scientific research in The Personified Heart Models project within which work of heart at these or those diseases will be modelled. Researches are conducted URFA together with leading university in Belgium — Ghent University.
"If institutes still can independently buy the equipment, then will not be able to prepare such data processing center — Andrey Sozykin told. — Important and the fact that existence of the specialized premises for placement of the server hardware with such characteristics is invaluable in a question of participation in tenders on receiving different grants. If earlier our many requests already on preliminary stages of selection were cut, then now the probability of a victory in such tenders on receiving the computing equipment considerably will increase. Also more opportunities open for high-performance computing for researches, for carrying out training courses, etc.".
