• the open integrated platform: possibilities of SharePoint become wider and include support of modern standards of web development, and clients can implement innovations both in cloud, and in the local environment

Microsoft provided also means of universal access and intellectual detection to Office 365. These tools allow to create and publish any documents, to work jointly on them and to manage files from where it is necessary, from any device.

In the second quarter 2016 a number of features is added:

• access to libraries of the documents SharePoint Online from mobile application of OneDrive;
• intellectual detection in OneDrive of documents both from OneDrive, and from SharePoint;
• copying from OneDrive in SharePoint;
• OneDrive Universal Windows Platform (UWP) application.

Until the end of 2016 are improved:

• more convenient access to analytics of documents to OneDrive for tracking of use of documents, their availability and efficiency;
• synchronization of libraries of the documents SharePoint Online with the new client of synchronization of OneDrive;
• synchronization of shared folders with the new client of synchronization of OneDrive;
• mobile access to libraries of documents SharePoint in local farms of servers;
• copying of files and their movement between all endpoints of OneDrive and SharePoint;

Mobile application of SharePoint for Windows, iOS and Android

In May, 2016 Microsoft announced release of mobile application of SharePoint for Windows, iOS and Android. It opens access to all corporate news, declarations, contacts, the websites, content and applications from any devices, irrespective of location of the user. The application can be connected also to those websites SharePoint which are placed locally.

Websites of the SharePoint 2016 groups

SharePoint joint work always relied on the websites of groups. Through them the working groups obtain content, information and necessary applications, share files and communicate both in group, and in scales of all organization. Now possibilities of the websites SharePoint and the Office 365 groups are integrated. Each group will have an own website, and at each website — all advantages of groups: simple management of membership for all services Office 365. Gathering a team or beginning the project, it is possible to create the website of the working group from the homepage of SharePoint, and then to prepare the Office 365 group corresponding to it using the integrated means of classification of data and ensuring compliance to standards.

Upgrade concerned also the homepage which is focused on analytical data now. For the purpose of performance improvement libraries and lists are updated. The user interface became more convenient, there were new metadata and also functions for content management and support of difficult business processes. New features for management of creation and the publication of content are entered.

These functions and opportunities which adding is planned for summer of 2016 will work on any device, in the browser and in mobile applications of SharePoint and OneDrive.

Integration into Microsoft Flow and PowerApps

Lists of SharePoint give to the working groups the chance to address structured data, to share them and to work jointly on them. They are traditionally used for the simplified interaction and other processes in connection with data. Often business processes demand from clients of data transfer from other systems in lists of SharePoint. At the end of April, 2016 it was announced a release of Microsoft Flow — new service of automation of workflows for the growing number of business applications and services SaaS on which work of many business users depends. SharePoint is integrated with Microsoft Flow there was an opportunity to be connected to data from different services Microsoft and third-party suppliers, and then to save and change these data in SharePoint. It is also possible to create flows in Microsoft Flow from lists of SharePoint.

In May, 2016 the public preliminary version of PowerApps — corporate service for developer innovators is also released. This service allows anywhere and from any device in several minutes to get access to business applications, to create and publish them for participants of the working groups. Within May of PowerApps it will be integrated directly into the modern websites of groups that will allow to create the cross-platform applications of PowerApps using lists and SharePoint libraries as data sources.

SharePoint Framework: the open integrated platform

In May, 2016 Microsoft announced SharePoint Framework exit — platforms for modeling of pages and their elements which completely support development on client side and use of means with the open code and also is integrated with Microsoft Graph.

SharePoint Framework is development of an ecosystem of SharePoint: the platform of rendering on client side which cornerstone JavaScript technologies with the open code are. A system allows developers to use modern JavaScript technologies and platforms for creation of web templates both in local, and in the SharePoint cloud environment.

Using the SharePoint Framework platform it is possible to develop multifunction applications in SharePoint, integrating into them any services from Office 365. The pages and opportunities created using SharePoint Framework automatically will support work from mobile devices and to be integrated with mobile application of SharePoint.

SharePoint Framework is the cornerstone the concept of use of means, platforms and initiatives with the open code on which many developers rely today. This platform expands borders possible for the solutions created based on SharePoint both in local and in cloud environments.

In the summer of 2016 the SharePoint Framework platform will be available to the clients using Office 365 and participating in the program of first-priority access. The web elements created using this platform can be added to modern pages and opportunities and also to already existing pages.

In the summer of 2016 the Microsoft company completes the following developments:

At the end of 2016 for data encryption, saved in SharePoint, the feature to use own keys will be added (and to manage them).

In May, 2016 in SharePoint and OneDrive are supported:

Microsoft FastTrack для Office 365

2015: There is a work on SharePoint 2016

On February 3, 2015 the staff of Microsoft reported in the corporate blog - there is a work on SharePoint 2016.

According to information of developers, the version of corporate applications for placement on servers of the companies will be hybrid - possibilities of local and cloud configurations will be combined.

The release of the version of SharePoint Server 2016 is planned for the second half of 2015. In it the options which are already tested in the on-line version will work.

In 2014 SharePoint Server 2013 provided integration with cloud Office 365, it gave the chance to users - to combine information search in two of these software packages. They got access to the Office 365 video portal and new opportunities of communication by means of corporate network Yammer. However, Microsoft reported: not all from these new opportunities will be implemented in SharePoint Server 2016.

The company announced continuation of works regarding adding of new features in Office 365 which will be included in the final version of SharePoint. Portals for knowledge management (Knowledge Management) and people (People Management) will become them. Joint efforts of development team of OneDrive/SharePoint the Office 365 office suite will receive advanced functionality for file management and synchronization with OneDrive.
