LVRTC

LVRTC is the Latvian company providing services of infrastructure of electron coupling, providing high-quality and reliable telecommunication services to the Latvian and international mobile operators, the Internet and telecommunications and also to public institutions. LVRTC is the only company in Latvia, the providing service of the electronic signature to individuals and also the public and municipal authorities and businessmen.

History

2015: LVRTC started section of the optical cable Riga-Valga which closed a final link of the Baltic ring of the international network RETN

Latvia strengthened the position in the system of transit of world Internet traffic due to start of section of a telecommunication optical network between Riga and Valga. Ppoyekt a prolozheniye optical fiber GAO "Latvian State Center of Radio and Television" (LVRTC) is implemented. Section by right is considered one of the most important links in consolidation of telecommunication infrastructures of the Baltic States through which there passes the backbone network of RETN. Thanks to completion of construction of this section, the international trunk telecom operator of RETN in January, 2015 put the transbaltic route Finland-Poland passing through the cities of Baltics (Tallinn-Riga-Kaunas) into operation. The started route is built using the latest WDM equipment Infinera based on technology 500G super-channel and has capacity of 8 Tbps.

"Cooperation of RETN with LVRTC made a noticeable contribution to project implementation of the transbaltic route which provided a direct path for traffic between the North and the South of Europe. The work done by LVRTC is a major step in information consolidation of the Baltic countries. Use of this transit route for the admission of the international Internet traffic and data transmission expands economic and cultural opportunities of the Baltic region", - Leonid Shuralev, the director of RETN Baltic told. "We also especially would like to note the innovation methods of work of LVRTC. During our interaction signing of all agreements between RETN Baltic and LVRTC took place remotely, using the system of the electronic signature".

'LVRTC began work on creation of the project of a backbone optical network already more than five years ago, however real construction works were begun in 2013. A main objective of the project is creation in the territory of Latvia of available and open infrastructure of transfer of trunk data for service providers of electron coupling and also delicious of the towers belonging to LVRTC, the optical cable, providing, thus, long-term use of earlier enclosed investments of LVRTC. Besides, expansion of a range of services, provided by the enterprise to local and international telecom operators was the purpose of creation of a backbone optical network. The RETN network is one of the widest networks in the region and even in the world, one operator who is in management. In general it stretches from Asia to the USA and has a wide covering in the territory of Eastern and Western Europe. Connection of optical link Riga - Valga with Retnstalo network an important stage in creation of reliable and safe connection of the Baltic States to a global network the Internet. Cooperation of LVRTC with RETN shows how open and available transit backbone network of data transmission through the territory of Latvia is important to the international operators for ensuring integration of the Baltic States into modern information space that it will allow clients to contact without special difficulties any country of Europe or Asia", Yanis Bokta, the chairman of the board of LVRTC noted.
