Kraftway KW10T the Protected tablet PC

In February, 2015 Kraftway provided the first protected tablet PC - Kraftway KW10T. The device is equipped with the display with screen 10.1 diagonal" and works running OS Windows or Linux.

The company notes that the new device differs, first of all, in the increased security thanks to in it the certified built-in hardware and software of protection against unauthorized access to information and also the low-level, built-in BIOS antivirus protection.

The means of protecting set on the tablet and control of information begin to work already at the BIOS level even before start of OS and with guarantee have higher priority before any other applications.

The beginning of deliveries of tablets is planned for the second quarter 2015. The senior vice president of Kraftway Renat Yusupov told TAdviser that, most likely, it is necessary for May. He also noted that it is impossible to call the exact price of Kraftway KW10T at the time of the announcement of the device, however designated that for civil users the device should cost "cheaper, than iPad".

Device cost for defense structures, in turn, can vary depending on a range of means of protecting and implementation of additional requirements of the customer.

The tablet uses the motherboard of own development Kraftway, however for civil users of the device at the initial stage will be manufactured in China, Yusupov says. By production in Russia cost value of tablets is higher so far. For the closed customers lots of tablets will be produced at own capacities of Kraftway in Russia.

The main potential users in the company see state structures and state corporations to which the protected ADP equipment is necessary for confidential information for processing, including. Renat Yusupov noted in a conversation with TAdviser that especially relevant the new Kraftway tablet should become for those organizations where there is a question of import substitution.

The senior vice president of Kraftway found it difficult to give the forecast for Kraftway KW10T sales volumes for the first year from the moment of their entry into the market, however noted that if they are "several tens of thousands", it will be good result.

Specifications

The Kraftway KW10T tablet is constructed on own motherboard with the special version of UEFI AMI BIOS developed by Kraftway. In it the Intel Atom E3825 dual-core processor with the graphic coprocessor is used, the device supports 32-bit and 64-bit applications and works running the Windows or Linux operating systems.

The Kraftway KW10T tablet has two modifications with drives on 64 and 128 GB. On the body of the device two cameras are placed: frontal (2.0 Mpiks) and rear (5.0 Mpiks).

In the KW10T tablet configuring of means of communications proceeding from needs of the customer is implemented. If necessary modules Wi-Fi with support BlueTooth 4.0 and 3G/3G + LTE can be taken.

The device can work in several modes. For security when carrying out confidential negotiations the option of sale of the tablet with forced shutdown of audiodevices, loudspeakers, the microphone, built-in cameras is provided. For this purpose on the back of the tablet there is a switch which manages the specialized controller for the guaranteed shutdown of all audiovisual channels and also activation of the white noise generator and the vibration sensor.

In the tablet the opportunity for work is also provided in a protect mode on a wireless network of Wi-fi. It is provided using the specialized Wi-Fi-controller installed in the device with the complementary bandpass filter in a transceiving path which limits operating frequency in the range outside 2.4 GHz, and use of specialized access point.

The following components are a part of means of protecting of the KW10T tablet:

• The hardware-software module of a trusted boot "Kripton-Vityaz" providing status monitoring of BIOS and the integrated means of protecting before start of the central processor, access isolation with transparent authentication in OS and also control of software environment. As the identifying device Bluetooth token is used;

• The antivirus of Kaspersky Antivirus for UEFI providing low-level scanning before loading of OS and the guaranteed protection against a malicious code (rootkits, butkita, a stealth viruses);

• Hypervisor of Kraftway Hypervisor which is intended for continuous control and priority access of means of protecting to all address space and input devices / output.

Centralized operation by the integrated means of protecting is exercised through the center of security of Kraftway Security Center.
