FD Logistik automated logistic infrastructure based on WMS technologies

February 9, 2015. The FD Logistik company, the logistic operator providing a full range of services in the field of safe custody of dangerous loads automated work of own warehouse complex of class "A" using a warehouse management system of the industrial LEAD WMS level.

Jointly with specialists of FD Logistik, the LogistiX group, the leading system integrator in the field of logistics in Russia was engaged in implementation of all stages of the project. According to analysts of domestic WMS of the market, in the field the LogistiX group executed more than 100 projects in Russia and the CIS countries and also is the first developer of the Russian IT solutions for automation of logistic complexes using the systems of assistance based on mobile technologies (BIGLit WAS system) and also opportunities of augmented reality (Pick-by-Vision). Today, the specialized functionality of LEAD WMS for management of the logistic centers which are engaged in processing of loads of classification of ADR (engl. Accord Dangereuses Route) including also standard processes – from acceptance before consolidation and shipment of products from a warehouse works at a warehouse complex.

Within the project the functionality of automatic calculation of cost of services for bailors, detailed inventory and the reporting is also implemented, setup of the gateway of data exchange with support of transaction ('on-line') and file exchange is made.

"Until implementation of WMS – the system of industrial level, we had an experience with other solution. Unfortunately, the previous system was almost disabled, and could not consider complexity of specifics of work with loads of categories "ADR" and nuances of our logistic center for rendering high-quality services of safe custody to our clients. In particular, it was important to us to manage processes in a foreshortening of different categories of loads and observance of the international requirements for storage and cargo handling. Therefore we made the decision on forced and operational replacement of WMS. Now it is possible to note that implementation of the present project allowed to consider all features of a complex, including to achieve high rates not only regarding performance of work of our employees, but also in the work plan of the logistic center in general", - noted in company management of FD Logistik.

"Despite project implementation within QuickStart methodology, we covered all specifics and provided necessary algorithms for work of HLOP (high-level order pickers) in a narrow-passage technology warehouse where it is important to provide uniform distribution of load of the equipment. The separate technology was worked out for heavy loads which cannot be completed at height. Two-stage placement and a set of other nuances allowing to provide the most effective operation of heavy machinery in the set conditions is provided", - commented on the project in LogistiX group.
