On February 24, 2015 the Infinera company announced implementation of the platform of a packet optical transport network of Infinera DTN-X for RETN company, in the European territorial network of the operator.
Project Tasks
RETN selected the equipment Infinera DTN-X for increase in power of a core of network and the key points of presence located in Europe.
Project Results
By means of use of the Infinera DTN-X platform the RETN company can provide providing communication channels of coherent data transmission at a speed of 100 Gbps due to use of superchannels of 500 Gbps capable to be scaled to 1 Tbit / c (in the future).
In DTN-X API interfaces with support of SDN technology which provide programming and process automation of operation of network are implemented, promoting reduction of operating costs and terms of deployment of new services.
According to the statement of the management of the operator, for February 24, 2015 the general involved network transmission capacity of RETN on four main routes of the international traffic the East-West makes 5 Tbit / c. Due to constantly growing volumes of traffic of data the company is going to continue scaling of network, conforming to requirements to WDM equipment capacity.
