2018: XC Series based on PowerEdge of the 14th generation
The company Dell EMC in January, 2018 announced release of hyper convergent infrastructure solutions (HCI) based on servers Dell EMC PowerEdge the 14th generation. The line of the HCI solutions Dell EMC includes the solutions Dell EMC XC Series for the customers needing in Microsoft Hyper-V and others hypervisors and also in opportunities to work with several hypervisors at the same time. Offer Dell EMC XC Series based on the PowerEdge servers of the 14th generation the increased performance, higher data transfer rates and support of the new NVMe/SSD configurations. In particular, with the Dell EMC XC Series complexes customers receive:
- The increased performance in resource-intensive environments thanks to up to 50% to bigger quantity of cores counting on one device;
- Up to 93% the increased computing power in environments with a high density of data storage;
- Scenarios of application in VDI environments thanks to the power of graphic accelerators increased by 50%.

Scalable complete solutions help to optimize data processing centers and provide 50% of increase in capacity of storage and the doubled rack density for support of the customers unrolling the broad range of workloads including infrastructures of a virtual desktop (VDI), private clouds and Big Data.
The vendor calculates that the configured devices will increase the capacity of the Dell PowerEdge servers of the 13th generation and will provide increase in capacity of storage more than 50% and the doubled rack density in comparison with the initial equipment of Dell XC Series.
Dell XC Series devices increase performance and flexibility for ensuring support of Web of Large-scale network deployments.

Dell XC630 is the compact device of a form factor 1U. Supports more users of virtual desktop PCs in a half with firmness - places that does by more attractive option for clients with limited space in a rack or for deployment of VDI and others of virtual detail designs.
Dell XC730xd (2U) can support 60% more data storage in comparison with the previous generation (to the 32nd terabyte).

In August, 2015 the Dell company began sales in the Russian market of hyper convergent solutions of Dell of series XC of the second generation: Dell XC430, Dell XC630, Dell XC730 and Dell XC730xd:
- The updated line of hyper convergent solutions of Dell of series XC helps to solve more wide range of tasks in virtual environments;
- New solutions are constructed on the Dell PowerEdge servers of the 13th generation that allowed to increase performance, more than to increase capacity by 50% and to two times — density in a rack in comparison with solutions of the previous generation.
Solutions are scaled and help to simplify structure of DPC, have more than for 50% bigger capacity and practically twice bigger density in a rack. They are suitable for loadings of the most different character, including infrastructures of virtual work places (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure — VDI), private clouds and Big Data.
Solutions of Dell of XC Version series 2.0 represent end-to-end systems based on the Dell PowerEdge servers of the 13th generation in combination with the software of Nutanix and technical support of Dell. They include a storage system of the corporate level, computing modules and a hypervisor. The new systems fill up a portfolio of the program configured storages (Software Defined Storage — SDS) of Dell company.
Interest in the integrated systems is caused by a possibility of construction of simple and at the same time powerful infrastructure with a high performance, a possibility of fast deployment and low operating costs. Solutions of Dell of series XC allow to reduce costs for 27% and six times to reduce a payback period in comparison with the traditional VDI platform, according to the analysis of Wikibon research company.
The line of hyper convergent solutions of Dell of series XC of this generation is provided by different models that gives to customers the chance to solve more wide range of tasks in virtual environments. The Dell XC430, Dell XC630, Dell XC730 and Dell XC730xd models based on the Dell PowerEdge servers of the 13th generation were a part of the updated line. In comparison with younger models, the systems of new generation bear significant improvements. They allow to carry out the following tasks:
- Increase the speed of operation of applications. More powerful servers and additional opportunities of data storage (a flash memory and hard drives) allow to start exacting to resources of the VDI configuration and private cloud platforms and also to work with Big Data.
- Increase density. One is resistant - the place can contain 16 TB tanks that it is twice more in comparison with solutions of first generation. The same capacity as before, occupies twice less spaces. As a result the benefit is received by customers of any type, in particular suppliers of managed services and those who use combined by DPC.
- Improve flexibility. A wide variety of computing modules, memory and drives allows to customize scrupulously a system under a certain type of loading and to gradually add power.
The solution Dell XC630 is executed in form factor 1U and maintains the bigger number of users counting on a half with firmness - places in comparison with the solution of first generation. It does it by even more attractive choice for customers with a limited number with firmness - places and for those who develop VDI-or other virtual environments. The solution Dell XC730xd in form factor 2U supports for 60% of high capacity in comparison with the previous generation — up to 32 TB. Many customers, in particular those who manage a private cloud or use Big Data get big advantages.
Engineers made the systems of Dell of series XC simple in implementation and easily expanded as required. They allow to reduce total cost of ownership. Customers can add new modules in minutes, using the model "pay in process of growth". Customers can create a set of virtual environments, using the same complete solution. In process of growth of business and change of a situation in the market of the company can quickly adapt a system for the needs, having connected to it new modules. At the same time there will be no situation when the customer buys more, than it is necessary for him.
