2024: 1C instead of SAP. How Kalashnikov conducts IT import substitution
In September 2024, it became known that the Kalashnikov concern is completing the transition to domestic software, replacing foreign solutions with the 1C platform as part of the IT import substitution program. The project is aimed at increasing technological independence and protecting the critical information infrastructure of the concern and is carried out in accordance with the decisions of the Government of Russia. Earlier, Kalashnikov used SAP software, which is now being replaced by Russian counterparts.
According to the concern, the introduction of the 1C platform will affect JSC Concern Kalashnikov, JSC Izhevsk Mechanical Plant and JSC Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant, where domestic IT solutions for managing production and financial and economic processes will begin to work from January 1, 2025. The main software products will be 1C and 1C: Document flow, providing automation of planning, accounting and document flow at all levels.
According to the Kalashnikov concern, the project to replace foreign software was launched in 2023 and is being implemented with the support of the state. The goal is not only to ensure data security, but also to develop domestic software solutions for the industrial sector. According to Alexei Slyunkov, Director of Information Technology and Communications, the concern is actively replacing foreign software, trying to preserve the necessary functionality. The project is being carried out ahead of schedule, and Kalashnikov is one of the first large enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) to complete such a transition.
A large-scale software replacement program is carried out within the framework of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" with the support of the Russian Information Technology Development Fund (RFRIT).[1]

January 29, 2015. 1C announced[2] community on the completion of automation of the Kalashnikov Concern.
More than 400 jobs automated on the basis of the ERP-solution "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management" allow the largest Russian developer and manufacturer of weapons to automate calculations of the cost of production, receive operational data on stock balances and mutual settlements, and maintain regulated accounting.
Also at the enterprises of the Kalashnikov Concern, other solutions of the 1C company are used, integrated with the ERP system: 1C: Document Flow, 1C:PDM Engineering Data Management, 1S:TOIR Equipment Repair and Maintenance Management.
