The Pony Express company — the universal logistic operator who is a part of diversified industrial group "Basic Element" — completed implementation of the automated control system for the warehouse "1C: WMS". Axelot became the partner in implementation of IT solution for Pony Express.
Within implementation of new strategy of work the universal logistic operator Pony Express upgrades own information systems, bringing them into accord with new business needs. For optimization of management of warehouse assets the company implemented "1C: WMS". A system already began work in the logistic Pony Express "Bulatnikovo" terminal situated near Moscow. This terminal of class "A" has the area of 20 thousand sq.m. For storage of loads in it pallet shirokoprokhodny and shelf racks are used, there are zones for floor and mezzanine storage.
Based on the terminal the Pony Express company provides services within the logistic outsourcing including safe custody, processing and cargo delivery. Service on the organization and management of transportations, accounting and inventory management, preparation of the commodity accompanying documentation, warehousing and warehouse processing, a complete set of orders of any complexity, delivery to the end consumer is offered to clients.
Implementation of all these functions in Bulatnikovo required implementation of the automated control system for a warehouse. The management of Pony Express stopped the choice on "1C: WMS" as this system, according to representatives of the company, has modern functionality and high speed of implementation. The Axelot company, the 1C: WMS developer became the contractor of an implementation project. The implemented system, on a response of the customer, allowed to increase the accuracy of an inventory control and transparency of calculation of services and also to optimize warehouse business processes.
The project was implemented according to the standard scenario in four stages: planning and design, preparation of a system and warehouse for start, personnel training and acceptance testing, final start of a system in operation. Besides, the project team of Axelot performed works on integration of "1C: WMS" with a corporate information system of Pony Express which is responsible for courier services. Integration of systems allowed Pony Express to create a common information space of the company and to simplify document flow between structural divisions and also between the company and customers of services.
Pony Express plans replication of this information system in the branches and regional representative offices.
