Oracle SDN is the program configured network Oracle (SDN).
The program configured Oracle network is virtual infrastructure for cloud information center. With its use performance of applications and flexibility of management increases, it dynamically connects virtual machines and servers to any resources of information center.
On March 10, 2015 the Oracle corporation provided virtual network services Oracle SDN for program accomplishment of the network tasks connected with security, balancing of loadings and routing. They can be performed on one virtual machine with configuring and management by means of Oracle Fabric Manager.
Functionality of service
- Connects any virtual machine to any resource (the network device, storage, other virtual machine).
- Quickly develops the multi-user environment by means of private virtual connection.
- Provides capacity between servers to 80 GB / page.
- Connects up to 1 thousand servers and up to 16 thousand private virtual connections.
- Supports isolation of network and logical simplicity of physical connections.
Advantages
- Increases performance of applications up to 30 times.
- Reduces need for the switching ports and cables by 70%.
- Allows to start more virtual machines on one server without reducing the service level.
- Does not spend the address of VLAN network, ensuring safety and isolation of data.
Scheme of virtualization of network services. Oracle SDN helps to connect virtual machines and network services, creates the isolated private data processing centers. Private virtual connections guarantee isolation and performance, 2015
Specific Features
Software of virtualization of network services is started on the virtual machine. Hardware-software requirements:
- Oracle Linux 6 (64 bits) Oracle Solaris Update 5 or 11 Update 2
- Oracle Fabric Manager 4.3.0
- x86 architecture (newer CPU)
- The RAM - 4 GB at least
- vCPU - 2
Accumulation of performance is made by adding of virtual processors and memories in VM where the virtual network services are deployed.
