Content

In 2014 the LanKey system integrator implemented construction of a data processing center for JSC Federal Freight Company (FFC) - subsidiary company JSC RZD.

"FGK" is JSC Russian Railways affiliated enterprise and the largest cargo railway operator in the territory of the Russian Federation. JSC FGK exists since 2010, and at the end of 2014 took the II place in the rating of INFOLine RAIL RUSSIA TOP operators by the number of cars in property - 164.2 thousand units. 14 branches of JSC FGK work at all polygon of Russian Railways. Representative offices of JSC FGK in Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan are open.

Project Objective

Due to the active development of the company, the management made strategic decision on construction of own data processing center in the Moscow division of the company to the address: Moscow, Masha Poryvayeva St., 34.

In the summer of 2014 of "Federal Freight Company" (FFC) announced competition on execution of works on creation of DPC based on which won against LanKey system integrator.

Construction of new data center allowed "FGK" to solve not only a problem of placement of the server hardware which increase is connected with intensive development of an IT complex of the company, but also in combination with duplication of key IT services on the reserve platform to provide disaster tolerance of the IT infrastructure that is reliability indicator in the operator market.

Project Progress

Before works on deployment of infrastructure of DPC specialists of LanKey prepared the premises for placement of the equipment:

  • developed space-planning solutions,
  • performed finishing works
  • mounted a raised floor.

To preparatory work high requirements as the premises for DPC are located in the business center of class A were imposed. After completion of all-construction works events for creation of infrastructure of DPC were held.

In progress in construction of engineering infrastructure of DPC of "The federal freight company" engineers of LanKey solved the complex of problems connected with creation of an engineering system of data center — the structured cabling system (SCS).

By SCS it is created on three-level architecture and consists of a horizontal subsystem, a vertical subsystem and a subsystem of administration. All SCS components are integrated with each other and ensure harmonious and smooth functioning of all system.

All subsystems of SCS are constructed on the basis of the equipment under the Systimax brand. SCS it is supplied with the certificate of an expanded guarantee and the program of support of applications and also conforms to international standards TIA/EIA-568B and TIA/EIA-942. Organized by SCS fully provides functioning of information systems, applications and FGK services.

For ensuring complex security of DPC the system of technical security as a part of which the alarm system, access control and a video surveillance system on the platform of the equipment of HID, System Sensor, Panasonic, etc. is developed and implemented. After installation of a system of technical security of DPC in a standalone mode the security system of data center is integrated into the general security system and for March 17, 2015 both systems function as uniform.

As well as any object of informatization, DPC of JSC FGK needed the system of regular power supply. In work flow on the organization of a power supply system in a data processing center by specialists of LanKey solved an extensive complex of the tasks which allowed to achieve high quality and reliability of electricity supply of consumers of data center. The solved tasks were among:

  • the implementation of technical actions for redistribution of power between the systems of JSC FGK which provided sufficient indicators of power for work of DPC and also increased efficiency of use of the electric power;
  • installation of the feeding and distribution networks;
  • installation of a distribution equipment Schneider Electric;
  • use of the UPSes following groups:

APC MGE Galaxy 5500 60 kVA – for a power supply of the IT equipment;
APC MGE Galaxy 5500 80 kVA – for a power supply of conditioners;
APC Smart UPS VT of 40 kVA – for a power supply of the most responsible IT loading.

Works were complicated by the saturation of engineering networks of the building and also feature of architectural concepts. For high-quality ensuring execution of works and permission of a number of the arisen difficulties in the course of installation, engineering services of the building were attracted with specialists of LanKey that allowed to achieve mutually advantageous results. In close cooperation with engineering personnel of Schneider Electric the reliable scheme of reservation of power supply of all equipment was worked and implemented. The installed system of power supply of DPC of JSC FGK meets all modern requirements imposed to electric units that is confirmed by the warranty certificate. Besides, dismantling of water heating systems and fire extinguishing since such systems are strictly forbidden to use in premises of data centers is executed.

In view of high heatinflow of the equipment of data center, one of the major tasks at construction of DPC providing optimal temperature conditions for correct and smooth operation of all systems of data center is. For the purpose of the solution of this task, engineers of LanKey designed and installed the precision Emerson system with the lower distribution of air in number of three blocks with two independent freon circuits. Outside of the building six outside condenser blocks of air cooling HCR33 were placed. This system allows to provide to 100% withdrawal of heatsurpluses from premises of a data processing center. For ensuring correct air circulation in DPC the system of a supply and exhaust ventilation which is connected to the general ventilation system of the building is mounted. Purification of the given air by means of filtering system with a cleaning class not below EU7 is organized.

Also for the purpose of providing additional security measures in a data processing center of JSC FGK the system of gas elimination not dependent on the main and antismoke ventilation system is installed. Ventilation systems and gas eliminations are provided with automation of open fire-prevention valves that significantly reduces risks of the human victims at emergencies and reduces to a minimum dependence of the equipment on a human factor in case of fire-dangerous situations. Besides, the premises are provided with additional automatic system of gas fire extinguishing that corresponds to necessary measures of protection of premises of DPC.

Result

According to the results of the executed FGK project uses modern DPC more than 250 sq.m. All works on creation, testing, setup and to start of DPC in operation are executed by LanKey in time, without derogations from technical documentation. The constructed DPC conforms to the world and domestic quality standards and security, the level of reliability Tier III.
