The St. Petersburg bank implements means of information security for BYOD

On March 23, 2015 it became known of an implementation project of an information security management system when using the mobile devices IBM MobileFirst in "St. Petersburg Bank^[1].

Anatoly Skorodumov, the associate director - the head of department of information security "St. Petersburg Bank, told: "We thought of implementation of BYOD technology few years ago. Employee categories which need remote access to information resources of the organization were defined: ordinary specialists (they needed access to e-mail and EDMS as out of office and in office, for example the person is at a meeting, and something can look/answer), administrators (they are available in mode 24х7 on a failure case) and also mobile employees and partners. Access to the test systems and also for a short time to the fighting systems is necessary for the last for operational recovery of their working capacity in case of failures".

There is practically no difference in security between personal mobile devices and corporate, solved in bank, and selected the uniform strategy of control of all these devices.

During selection of a MDM system four pilot projects on the basis of four different solutions are implemented. The product of IBM company is selected.

Project Progress

"Now the first stage of implementation which covers about 400 users is completed, in few months it will be complete. Increase in users of a MDM system by 2-3 times is by the end of the year planned", - Anatoly Skorodumov reported.
