Dolby Atmos

The Dolby Atmos technology allows creators of movies to bring a sound at cinema to essentially new level, having provided complete immersion of the viewer in the events on the screen, thanks to a possibility of placement and moving of a soundtrack to any point of movie theater, even over the heads of the audience. As a result the viewer not just watches the events on the screen, and moves to the center of events.

The Dolby Atmos technology was provided in April, 2012 and is used by all largest Hollywood studios. At movie theaters of more than 40 countries of the world more than 900 Dolby Atmos systems are installed. 11 directors and 23 sound producers conferred the Oscar and also more than 250 movie theaters worldwide work with it. 2016: The Dolby Atmos technology will be used at the Cannes Film Festival

In May, 2016 the Dolby Laboratories company announced installation of a fixed equipment of Dolby Atmos in Cinéma L'Olympia movie theater where there takes place the annual International Cannes Film Festival. The audio system will give to film studios the chance to show the movies in the advanced sound format.

The Dolby Atmos audiotechnology allows to create the realistic sound surrounding the audience from all directions. Voices of people, music and other sounds seem absolutely natural that provides feeling of complete immersion. Thanks to this effect the viewer will be able to be had to the center of events on the screen and to feel one of heroes of a picture. The Dolby company remains the technical partner of the Cannes Film Festival and is responsible for high quality of a soundtrack in numerous cinema halls where films by participants will be shown. In the course of preparation for a 12-day film marathon experts of Dolby actively cooperated with organizers of a festival and advised on the questions connected with digital video and audio-technologies.
