Cisco Cloud Architecture for the Microsoft Cloud Platform

Cisco Cloud Architecture for the Microsoft Cloud Platform is a cloud platform, it is created together with Microsoft. The product is developed within Interoblak's concept (Cisco initiative).

On March 30, 2015 Cisco announced the cloud platform created together with Microsoft. The Cisco Cloud Architecture for the Microsoft Cloud Platform platform will help service providers to accelerate development of cloud services and will simplify process of transition to a cloud^[1] for clients^[1].

The solution Cisco Cloud Architecture for a cloud platform of Microsoft contains structural blocks, using which providers will be beyond the traditional offer of infrastructure as services (infrastructure as a service, IaaS). Service providers will have an opportunity to provide to customers the combined solutions offering infrastructure as service, the platform as service (platform as a service, PaaS) and the software as service (software as a service, SaaS).

The partnership agreement directed to upgrade of the data processing centers (DPC) by creation of integrated solutions for corporate customers and service providers is signed by Cisco Systems and Microsoft in July, 2014.

The purpose of integration of technologies Cisco and Microsoft - to optimize operator business. The combination Windows Azure Pack and Cisco ACI allows partners to provide the accelerated rates various services (network services, disaster recovery, processing of Big Data, corporate applications) using the DevOps model, reducing total ownership cost and accelerating return of investments.

As a result of cooperation the ready libraries of management of politicians giving to providers the chance to implement applications with coordinated management by politicians are created. For simplification of operating activities and control at management of the growing business, integration of solutions is executed Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 and Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) Manager.

Structure of Cisco Cloud Architecture for the Microsoft Cloud Platform, 2015

The solution is developed, generally for needs of traditional corporate applications. It will add architecture of Cisco on the OpenStack platform for cloud tasks and will provide seamless hybrid cloud functionality for connection to Interoblak and to Azure.

In plans of Cisco - to publish the first reference architecture in April, 2015.
