The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium uses a cloud control system of mobile devices of employees

On March 31, 2015 the Orange Business Services company announced providing to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium services of protection of mobile devices on the platform of Orange Mobile Device Management service.

Project Tasks

The ministry of foreign affairs of Belgium is provided in 132 countries of the world, in it 3000 employees representing the interests of citizens of the country in the world work. Questions of information security became for the MFA priority because of growth of number of the used mobile devices of employees which often serve as the purpose for malefactors.

IT department of department was faced by a task: provide to employees mobile access to the state resources, protect information and assets of the state from unauthorized access.

In search of the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium addressed Orange Business Services and selected the innovative solution of Mobile Device Management.

Project Progress

The cloud platform of Orange Mobile Device Management services about 500 devices of staff of the ministry in the different countries. The solution helps to apply the security policies characteristic of desktop PCs and notebooks, to smartphones and tablets - both working, and personal and to provide their execution. Implementation of technology became an important stage in digital transformation of department.

Project Results

Using Orange Mobile Device Management employees of IT department can set security policies for mobile devices, in particular: configure access control and roles for employees regardless of the platform (iOS, Android or Windows). A system guarantees access to e-mail, the major applications and data only for those devices which correspond to politicians of the company. Single complete solution for all departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium facilitated infrastructure of mobile devices and promoted the organization of centralized operation.
