Simple completed the organization of a wireless network

On April 2, 2015 the Laytnet company announced project completion of the organization of a wireless network in a warehouse of Simple "Laytnet" company^[1].

Project Tasks

The warehouse management system which database contains information on existence, quantity and location of goods on racks acts on the warehouse Simple. Interaction with a system is implemented by means of the software clients integrated into data collection terminals.

"Initially data collection terminals collected information nakopitelno, i.e. the operator moved on a warehouse, collected data, and then transferred them to the computer connected to a warehouse management system. After some time, we understood that this method of work does not suit us since it does not ensure neither speed functioning, nor relevance of data that it is so important in our dynamic business. Therefore, for optimization of interaction of terminals with a warehouse management system, the decision to build the wireless network covering all territory of a warehouse complex was made" - Evgeny Bugrov, the director of the department of Simple IT company told.

Project Progress

Warehouse of the company - the premises of the big area where racks with finished goods are located. Specialists of "Laytnet" conducted a radio research of an object according to which results they developed the project on creation of a wireless network, installation sites of access points are planned and the equipment, optimal on functionality, is picked up.

For centralized operation access points install the controller of a wireless network supporting function of "seamless roaming". Thanks to this functionality mobile terminals of data collection could move freely across all territory of a warehouse, without being afraid of signal loss – if the signal from one access point becomes weak, the next access point picks up the mobile terminal, continuing data transmission.

Project Results

"Thanks to the wireless network built by our specialists, it was succeeded to automate warehouse processes and it is essential to increase assembly of loads. Now warehouse workers can quickly receive and transfer data to the general base, controlling existence or lack of goods online. It allows to reduce significantly time expenditure by carrying out routine operations on collecting, accounting and processing of large volumes of information, and also on search of necessary goods in a warehouse" — Vladimir Yemelyanov, the head of corporate sales of Laytnet company noted.
