Rosenergoatom upgrades defense of perimeter of network

On April 3, 2015 the Andek company announced project completion of upgrade of a system of firewalling in JSC Rosenergoatom Concern.

Project Progress

Within the project specialists of Andek company made replacement and setup of the systems of protection of internal and external network perimeter in central office and nine branches of concern.

The project is implemented in several stages. At the beginning initial data on network condition with a report layout about inspection and the protocol of readiness for central office and each branch of Rosenergoatom are collected.

At the second stage developed the project documentation and provided training of 22 employees of Rosenergoatom in the Check Point Security Administrator R75 and CheckPoint Multi-Domain Security Management R71 programs.

At the final stage carried out installation, setup and switching of communication channels to the new equipment of Check Point company. During implementation specialists of Andek company carried out preliminary tests and trial operation of the upgraded system, developed the operational and work documentation.

Project Results

Upgrade of the systems of firewalling helped to increase the overall level of information security of Rosenergoatom company during the work with internal and with external resources. Within the project specialists of Andek company provided the centralized and role management of SME allowing to carry out flexibly setup of information security policies as from TsA, and branches.

Dmitry Nikiforov, the director of the department of protection of infrastructure of Andek company noted: "One of the purposes of this project - unification of SME in the central office (CO) and nine branches of Concern. The distributed hierarchical management became big advantage of the project, each of platforms can independently create the policy of firewalling now, but general requirements to politicians can be configured from the single console in TsA and automatically be inherited at the station. Implementation of this project allowed to reduce the cost of ownership of infrastructure of protection of network and the requirement to the number of highly skilled administrators of security systems".
