FolderMill

FolderMill is the program for automation of printing process of documents at offices.

When the employee needs to print something, it is only required to copy source files in the special folder. Printing is made automatically.

All files of the PDF format, Microsoft Word documents and Excel, the PowerPoint presentations, drawings made AutoCAD Solidworks are also always published in programs correctly. Print settings become only once – during installation of the software of FolderMill on office server.

2017

Version 4.2 release

On November 15, 2017 the fCoder company announced release of the next version of software for document flow optimization — FolderMill 4.2.

The latest version of FolderMill expands possibilities of mass document handling thanks to an opportunity to separate PDF into separate pages, to filter incoming documents by the sheet size, to expose a processing priority to certain files and other improvements.

In version 4.2 are implemented:

• An opportunity to separate the multipage PDF files into separate pages
• Possibility of setup of sorting of files in processing queue by name, to type, date or the size
• Action "Filter by the paper size"
• "Convert action into XPS" (well on demand)
• Options of autoturn and scaling according to the sheet of paper for action "Document printing"
• High security: rules stop at an error in processing of files, files are processed by the principle of First In, First Out (FIFO), the access time to files, unavailable to processing, is configured

Improvements:

• The event log is improved: the structure of the General and Detailed event log is optimized
• Other performance improvements and stability

Version 4.1 release

On April 28, 2017 the fCoder company released large-scale update for the FolderMill program — version 4.1.

This release includes printing barcodes of ZPL on printers Zebra, processing of files in ZIP, RAR or 7ZIP archives and also many other opportunities, improvements and corrections.

Possibilities of version 4.1:

• The augmented list of the supported formats: ZPL, MPP, HPGL, SWF, ONE
• An opportunity to transform files in ZIP, RAR or 7ZIP archives to PDF or images
• An opportunity to stop work of "hot folders"
• An opportunity to ignore files of a certain type in "hot folders"
• An opportunity to change an operations procedure in "hot folders"
• Possibility of the automatic choice of a tray for the PDF files depending on the paper size
• An opportunity to automatically delete the processed source files in several days
• An opportunity to use the password list for the PDF files password-protected

• Cleaning of log files according to the schedule

The made corrections:

• The error in data exchange between the program and the driver of the printer is corrected
• The error at start of FolderMill Processor in the service mode is corrected
• The error with the file name when using a macro of date and time is corrected

2016: Version 4.0 release

On July 27, 2016 the fCoder company released upgraded version of the program for workflow automation — FolderMill 4.0.

Printing process or convertings of files in real time became even more convenient thanks to adding of a number of functions and improvements.

The updated FolderMill works in the Windows service mode (the service mode) now, and thanks to it there was an opportunity to customize autonomous system of batch processing of documents without participation of the user.

2015

FolderMill processes more file formats

On April 15, 2015 the fCoder Group company announced expansion of the list of formats and files of FolderMill supported by the software.

In addition to automation of printing process, FolderMill will transform the text documents, tables and the presentations created by means of a packet of Microsoft Office in files of the PDF, JPG or TIFF formats. FolderMill can be used in combination with virtual printers, for example, with the Universal Converter of Documents. It allows to expand considerably the range of the supported formats - working drawings can be transformed from AutoCAD DWG, DXF or from Solidworks to other formats.

Use of the FolderMill program in a combination with the Universal Converter of Documents helps to automate process of conversion of drawings, as well as any office, technical documents to files of the PDF format or any image format, more convenient for search, – JPG, multipage TIFF, PNG, GIF, PCX, DCX, Bitmap.

Version 3.1 release

On December 12, 2015 fCoder Group Inc company. announced the version of the FolderMill 3.1 program release of release.

FolderMill is software of automatic printing of incoming documents, convertings of files of different origin in the PDF format. The program can process files of the most different formats – standard files of office applications – text files or tables, drawings, the presentations.

The FolderMill program is installed on the server. Its work is based on so-called "hot folders", and they are a basis of the interface of the program. Each of hot folders is configured on their certain processing: it can be converting in PDF or automatic printing. Everything that the user – to place the file in the folder for the entering files should make and to take files of the necessary format from the output folder, or to take away the printed documents from the printer. Internal system settings necessary for this purpose are made on the server by the administrator.

Printing process and convertings does not take a lot of time. As soon as the file is located in the "hot" folder, its processing begins: accounts, marketing materials, drawings and other documents become available in the universal PDF format or are issued within several seconds.

Use of the program does not require special preparation. Any of employees having access to the softwares special folders can at once begin to work with the program.

In version 3.1 of the program completions taking into account wishes of clients are entered. FolderMill 3.1 supports for processing files of the PDF Portfolio, Microsoft Outlook, Corel Draw CDR, Word Perfect WPD formats and many others.

As a part of the version of FolderMill 3.1:

• the improved interface of modules of the program
• function of printing of documents of the PDF Portfolio format with a possibility of breakdown on one-page files
• the updated module of converting of the PDF format in a format of the PDF/A standard
