In March, 2015 the implementation project of a warehouse management system (WMS) of G.O.L.D. Stock together with the modules G.O.L.D. Vocal and G.O.L.D. Radio in one of the largest Ukrainian retail networks – Brusnichka came to the end.
The implementation project started in January, 2014 and assumed consecutive system implementation of G.O.L.D. Stock in two warehouses of Ukrainian Retail company (the CU of Brusnichk): in a "dry" warehouse with a total area of 10,000 square meters and in a warehouse of "fresh" group (vegetables and fruit) with a total area of 1,000 square meters. Choosing a Solution
Among many WMS of the solutions "Brusnichka" selected the product used by many world leaders of retail market – the G.O.L.D. Stock system. The choice of G.O.L.D. Stock is caused by the fact that a system covers all requirements of modern retail network, allows to perform warehouse transactions in voice and radio the modes and also is widely used in other successful retail networks. A system has broad functionality, high fault tolerance, scalability and rather low cost.
The choice U&Sluno integrator of the project is caused by wide experience of implementations of WMS systems in Ukraine and Europe and profound knowledge of consultants U&Sluno in the field of processes of warehouse logistics.
Objectives
Start of correctly working warehouse processes for support of the ambitious plans for development of Brusnichka network allowing was a main objective of the project:
- provide effective management of a warehouse,
- increase performance of all warehouse transactions,
- increase the speed and quality of assembly of orders,
- optimize use of warehouse spaces and the loading equipment,
- obtain exact information on the location of goods in a warehouse,
- optimize the inventory level on the distribution center,
- it is more effective to manage the goods having limited expiration dates.
Results
System implementation of WMS G.O.L.D. Stock allowed to automate all warehouse processes:
- goods acceptance from the supplier,
- placement of goods on storage,
- replenishment of cells of selection according to the principles of FIFO and FEFO,
- selection of goods by orders of shops using standard and voice terminals,
- consolidation a pallet before shipment,
- loading a pallet in the car, preparation of documents and their printout,
- reverse processes (return of goods from shop on a warehouse and from a warehouse to suppliers),
- service processes (complete and cycle inventory counting, write-off of goods, control of the selected goods, control of expiration dates of goods).
Advantages
The advantages got in result of project implementation became:
- performance improvement of warehouse personnel,
- effective use of volume of a warehouse and warehouse equipment,
- possibility of implementation of transparent and objective motivation of warehouse personnel.
Framework of the project was not limited to technical software implementation. During the project audit of the existing processes, complete implementation and setup of all business of processes of a warehouse, system testing and user training under the leadership of the leading consultant U&Sluno on warehouse logistics of Alexander Mikhalchenko was booked. At present the implementation project is complete and transferred to support. The G.O.L.D. Stock system is brought into production operation and provides deliveries of goods to shops of one of the most dynamically developing networks of Ukraine.
