Cherkizovo Group transferred engineering infrastructure of mobile data center to service

2015

On April 22, 2015 it became known of creation of a modular data processing center by request of Cherkizovo group. Integrator in the project company "Jet Infosystems"^[1].

Project Tasks

Centralization of business processes of the company, implementation of new IT services and services will cause the repeated growth of amount of data and need of availability of "iron" for their storage. Solve this problem it is intended to a data processing center on the basis of building block solutions of Contain-RZ company.

Originally several projects were considered:

• co-location,
• cloud solution
• stationary data center in one of workshops of the plant.

In the detailed analysis of a situation specialists of integrator and the customer came to a conclusion - construction of stationary DPC will become complicated:

• considerable finance costs,
• mismatch of premises to technical requirements to construction,
• architectural difficulties,
• continuous nature of production,
• difficulties with placement and delivery of the equipment,
• project deadlines.

In the territory of ChMPZ there was a suitable open area, trunk communication channels, transport ways and necessary resources of the electric power. The selected option of large-block modular DPC excluded the risks connected with project errors and difficulties of installation. Sergey Andronov, the director of the Center of network solutions of Jet Infosystems company noted that the monovendor solution is delivered by krupnosborny constructions and its installation takes a little time. The project deadline is reduced and due to development of the project documentation — at the producer it already is, it is necessary to adapt it to the specific project.

"In my opinion, any new solution for modular DPC becomes outdated quickly enough, in 5-6 years it is not demanded. It is caused first of all by the fact that the vendor puts many efforts to Research and Development. When we selected building block solution for the Cherkizovo Group, we looked for it among producers which relatively exist recently in the market and use all new technologies, in particular, for energy efficiency, - Sergey Andronov emphasized. - The German company Contain-RZ was such producer as a result".

As well as in a case with the SCS project, experts of integrator strictly regulated terms of works, logistics and selected technological solutions so that they met all conditions in a complex.

Project Progress

At the first stage of the project construction preparation of the territory, including a base tab is carried out. Networks of power supply from two independent sources, communication channels, a water supply system were brought to the selected platform. Construction documentation according to which specialists of the German vendor began production of modules of future DPC is prepared. Further experts of the company integrator set on the platform modular construction from three containers: the framework, falseness floor and falseness ceiling cooling panels, etc.

At the second stage - design and implementation of engineering subsystems of turnkey DPC. The system of regular power supply, the ventilation and air conditioning system, gas fire extinguishing, access control, video surveillance are set, the structured cable network is unrolled.

Project Results

Result of construction - the data center created taking into account requirements of international standard TIA-942 with the level of reliability of a complex of the engineering TIER II systems and coefficient of fault tolerance of 99.749%.

The area is about 200 ^sq.m. In two modules of DPC 32 high-loaded racks where the core of corporate network and server platforms of all main business applications are placed are located (SAP, 1C, CSB, corporate mail, etc.). The third module is intended for providing with power supply, the UPS, battery cabinets, auxiliary power boards and fire extinguishing means is installed there.

For ensuring fault tolerance the most part of subsystems has reservation of not less N+1. On a case of interruptions in the electric power automatic translation of DPC on power supply from the diesel generator unit calculated on 8 hours work without refueling is provided.

Use of modular technology of creations of DPC helped to reduce noticeably start time, to unroll it on the offered platform, to provide required computing powers, including - due to carrying out of a conditioning system in a raised floor zone that almost increased useful space of data center by 30%.

From the moment of the beginning of project development before start of DPC in operation there passed 10 months.

Subsystems of DPC are coordinated to the engineering systems of all buildings of the plant and connected to an end-to-end system of monitoring that will help with a critical situation to notify quickly the administrator on a problem, and the software interface allows to manage engineering devices far off.

2016: Maintenance of engineering infrastructure of mobile data center

The Cherkizovo group gave by spring of 2016 of Jet Infosystems company to complex maintenance engineering infrastructure of mobile data center: conditioning system and ventilation, regular power supply and power supply, access control, monitoring and also ensuring constructive integrity of containers.

Accident-free functioning of the designated subsystems reduces risks of a stop of work of the critical business systems located in DPC (ERP, accounting, etc.), and as a result, financial losses of the company.
