Microsoft optimized plant operation of acrylic bathtubs of Polla using Azure and Office 365

April 27, 2015. The Microsoft company reported^[1] about optimization of work of the Tyumen plant of acrylic bathtubs Polla, based on the Microsoft Azure platforms and Office 365 service. The project was implemented by specialists of the external IT company "+ Alliance".

Choosing a Solution

Business of the Polla plant constantly develops, replenished and extends the list of official dealers and partners in all Russia, accounting and tax accounting becomes complicated managerial. The company there were not enough server capacities to provide smooth functioning of the information system "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management", crucial for business, and to adjust remote access of employees. For solution serious investments both in program, and in the hardware were required. Use of a cloud of Microsoft became an alternative. It allowed not only to reduce considerably investments in IT, but also to make costs more predictable: now payment happens in process of resource consumption.

Result

The Tyumen plant of acrylic bathtubs Polla thanks to a cloud Microsoft solved a problem of shortage of capacities and increased efficiency of activity. Use of Microsoft Azure and Office 365 service allowed to ensure remote work of mobile employees, to adjust uninterrupted operation of enterprise management systems, crucial for business, including at the moments of peak loads and at the same time it is considerable to cut down expenses on IT.

Transfer of an enterprise management system on the Microsoft Azure platform allowed to increase fault tolerance many times that especially relevant during the periods of peak loads, for example, by preparation of the reporting. And thanks to Office 365 and cloud storage of OneDrive for business managers of the plant who often meet clients out of office got access to the official documentation from any device and irrespective of location. At the same time service provides the high level of data protection and allows to manage access for employees to information of different degree of privacy.

As a result of changes the Polla plant received an extra working space, having refused the server room, and moving to the new office space managed to be performed, without interrupting work of employees.
