The SOLVO company completed in 2015 the project on Solvo.WMS system implementation in a warehouse of 5000 sq.m by production of one of the overworking oil and fat plants of NMZhK group in Nizhny Novgorod.
The main products which are stored in a warehouse which is from production premises at a distance: mayonnaise, oil, margarine, sauces, etc. Each goods have the features of packaging and parameters of fragility of a container which need to be considered at storage and assembly of orders. Delivery of finished goods from production is performed by freight vehicles to a warehouse then acceptance according to delivery notes is performed.
Products are placed on 5 level racks, pallets 2 in depth that considerably complicates search of goods in a warehouse.
The warehouse is distinguished by big load of a warehouse with a place minimum for placement of the collected order. Product acceptance from production and shipment of collected orders to clients is performed by motor cargo transport (6 docks work with narrow stages) and also there is one carriage stage for sending goods by cars.
Choice of the WMS system
Considering features of work of a warehouse, "NMZhK" made the decision to automate a warehouse with the help of the WMS system for which the following objects were set:
- Quick search of products in a warehouse, increase in speed of assembly of orders;
- Quality (accuracy) of assembly of orders;
- Ensuring the automated acceptance and assembly of products using radio terminals;
- Shipment of products by the principle of FEFO, reduction of quantity of overdue products in a warehouse;
- Increase in management efficiency and control of a warehouse, permanent condition monitoring of a warehouse;
- Reduction of claims from consumers (shortages and regrading) and also a downtime of transport at loading unloading.
Based on consideration of several warehouse management systems, a choice was made for benefit of the Solvo.WMS system.
Implementation process
The Solvo.WMS system implementation project in the warehouse "NMZhK" was implemented in 5 months of active joint work of specialists of SOLVO and NMZhK company.
Basic processes which were automated:
Process of product acceptance from production
- The basis for acceptance of products on a warehouse is the document "Receipt order" transferred from the head system of the enterprise to Solvo.WMS.
- In process of unloading of products in turn after one pallet from the car on a warehouse the storekeeper makes acceptance of products on the radio terminal. At this time in a system works on placement of goods in a warehouse form.
- Loaders place pallets according to the task received on their radio terminals, without waiting for complete unloading of the truck.
Storage of products in a warehouse
- Goods of one article and one date of production are stored in each cell.
- In the Solvo.WMS system works on movement of goods from upper tiers of racks on lower, available to selection by the picker are planned and distributed.
- Assembly of orders is performed by movement a pallet from upper tiers of a rack on lower taking into account fragility of packaging of goods and the principle of FEFO.
Assembly of the order
- After movement of goods of the lower tier the task is issued to pickers about assembly of the order, they perform assembly on pallets in the order of a bypass taking into account fragility of packaging of goods and take out to an order complete set zone. The packing list is attached to everyone a pallet.
Shipment
- When loading the order in the car or the car the storekeeper of shipment confirms loading of the national teams a pallet on the radio terminal.
As a result of automation of the warehouse "NMZhK" using the Solvo.WMS system, the following tasks were solved:
- The efficiency of placement of products in a warehouse increased;
- The principle of FEFO which provides the sequence of shipment to clients of products from a warehouse of earlier terms of production is adjusted, reducing the probability of a remaining balance of overdue products in a warehouse, at the same time products are shipped according to individual customer requirements on expiration dates.
- Process of inventory of products in a warehouse became simpler.

Implementation of Solvo.WMS became for us the important project which allowed to increase the level of our work qualitatively.
