AXELOT automated the warehouse Duty Free Aliance (Dyuti Fri Alliance)

May 13, 2015. The AXELOT company reported^[1] about automation of a warehouse sea "duty free" Duty Free Aliance, based on the 1C: WMS software product.

Choosing a Solution

In a warehouse there was no automation system that significantly complicated its work. Besides, the company was going to begin active development of direction 3PL that was impossible without implementation of a qualitative warehouse management system. Therefore the management of Duty Free Aliance made the decision on implementation of the WMS system which would lift work of a warehouse to qualitatively new level and provided a possibility of rendering services of safe custody to a wide range of clients. The choice was stopped on the 1C: WMS software product, and the AXELOT company became the contractor of an implementation project.

Project Progress

Specialists of AXELOT developed conceptual design and created the system model. Further by "1C: WMS" by means of the data bus ESB it was integrated with a corporate information system of the company. After that there took place personnel training of a warehouse, and a system was brought into operation. During the project there was a problem of setup of transfer of customs declaration numbers, without which it was impossible to carry out the accounting of goods and service receipt. It was succeeded to solve a problem thanks to completion of standard functionality of "1C: WMS". Besides, some problems with the procedure of selection came to light. They were called by the fact that all huge range of goods was "scattered" by small batches across the territory of a warehouse because of its small sizes. To avoid a similar situation further, on the lower tiers of racks intermediate regiments were added.

Result

Significant increase in speed of procedures of assembly of orders and goods acceptance became the most important result. Besides, thanks to implementation of "1C: WMS" in a warehouse of Duty Free Aliance company the dependence on personnel considerably decreased. The quantity of errors at acceptance of piece goods is reduced, operation of the warehouse equipment is optimized. Calculation of services to bailors is performed automatically now, and information on a remaining balance of goods is available online. The company had an opportunity of tracking of labor productivity of employees that significantly affected quality improvement of their work.
