ETegro Fastor FS200 G4

Fastor FS200 G4 is a storage system of fourth generation.

On May 26, 2015 ETegro Technologies announced release of storage system of Fastor FS200 G4 with the increased performance and enhanced capabilities of scaling up to 480 hard drives.

ETegro Fastor FS200 G4 - the two-controller failsafe storage system uses advantages of a hardware platform on Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors. In it the concept of the program focused solutions is implemented – the choice of OS is possible: Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 or Linux with ZFS.

ETegro Fastor FS200 G4 is focused as server, network, cluster storage for convergent environments 10/40GbE above. It is expected high transaction loads, trouble-free operation and energy efficient storage. The main applications for this DWH:

• consolidation of data,
• Big Data,
• VDI and high-performance computing,
• virtualization of servers,
• private clouds,
• databases,
• business applications,
• centralized the file services, etc.

The data access is implemented under the block iSCSI protocol with support of RDMA or to the file SMB 3.0/CIFS protocols with support of SMB Direct and SMB multichannel, NFS 4.1.

The hardware platform consists of two nodes of a cluster with the Intel Xeon processors E5-2600 v3 and memory of DDR4. It is characterized by the high performance, decrease in delays of transactions of an input \output and enhanced capabilities of scaling. It became possible at the expense of the improved design from implementation of the advanced server technologies, tenfold increase in speed of the internal bus, updating of input-output system before support 12G SAS for compliance of performance modern SAS of SSD disks.

In the body of the device 24 disks 2.5" or 12 3.5" a SAS disks are placed. For connection of external disk shelves well to 4 miniSAS ports on each controller.

In the maximum ETegro Fastor FS200 G4 configuration supports up to 480 disks with connection of disk shelves of ETegro Fastor JS300 G3.

For system management of storage ETegro Fastor FS200 G4 provides as program and independent remote access using KVM-over-IP for service of hardware, and standard management tools of Windows. Active Directory integration allows to use uniform access of level of the administrator in all network and to manage the Windows servers groups of the R2 Server Manager Windows Storage Server 2012 single console.
