History

1956: Creation of the company

The plant was constructed in very short time. 5/30/1952 the detailed design was approved, and already the first ton of a concentrate was produced 7/27/1955 (two months later the first ton of agglomerate) that is a birthday of the Southern mining and processing works. On November 28, 1956 a reptile the State commission signed the act of commissioning of the first stage of YuGOK-1 with yearly production on crude ore of 9000 thousand tons., a concentrate of 4446 thousand tons. and to agglomerate of 2625 thousand tons. By this time it was exported from a pit of 12.6 million mz overburden breeds, 4.4 million t are extracted. ores, 2.3 million t are produced. concentrate and 2.6 million t. agglomerate. Since August until the end of 1955 on steel works of Ukraine 391.8 thousand tons are shipped. products, including: Plant of Voroshilov of 110.4 thousand tons. Plant of Dzerzhinsky of 175.9 thousand tons. Plant to them. Petrovsky 5.2 thousand tons. Krivorozhstal plant of 42.0 thousand tons. Zaporozhstal plant of 46.6 thousand tons. Plant of Kirov of 11.7 thousand tons.

1980

As a result of reconstruction and modernization of YuGOK by 1980 reached production capacities on extraction of crude ore of 35.5 million t., factory of iron ore concentrate of 17.2 million t., agglomerate of 8.3 million t. at the level of which worked till 1990.

1966

In February, 1966 and to improvement of quality of iron ore raw materials and for the achieved success in improvement of the production technology the staff of plant was awarded the order by the Decree of Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR for successful task performance of the seven-year plan for increase in production the Labour Red Banner.

1975

For early accomplishment of the plan of 1975 and a successful completion of the 9th five-years period to staff of plant the passing Red Banner of the Central Committee of the CPSU, Council of Ministers of the USSR, the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions and the Central Committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League was awarded the Council of Ministers of Ukraine gave to plant the rank of "A name of the XXV congress of the CPSU". For years of existence of plant of 466 workers are awarded with awards and medals, to twelve the rank of the honored worker of the USSR and USSR is given, to nine the rank of winners of the State awards of the USSR is given, and to operators of excavators V.K. Mironenko, N.P. Yemelyanov and the former director of plant I.I. Savitsky the ranks of the Hero of Socialist Work are given.

Being a leader of the mining industry, Yugokstal a peculiar laboratory on testing of the advanced and progressive types of the mining and processing equipment, school of training for the mining and processing integrated works which are again put into operation. Here drillings were for the first time tested, korotkozamedlenny detonation by production of mass explosions, the multistage scheme of deep enrichment of magnetite quartzites the first industrial tests of enrichment of the oxidized ores are carried out, essentially new scheme of production of iron ore pellets both other progressive technical and technological solutions is fulfilled.

At the same time with construction of plant also the industrial settlement which is one of the best settlements in the city on improvement and equipping by life activity infrastructure now was under construction. The plant locates good base for improvement of workers and their families. It is sanatorium dispensary and a camp site on the bank of the Karachunovsky water reservoir, shop clinic with a balneological clinic, stadium and Sports palace, children's recreation camp on the bank of the Black Sea.

1996

The deep economic crisis in Ukraine did not avoid also our enterprise. Violation of economic communications, restriction in a power consumption, mutual non-payments led to production reduction in 1996 in comparison with 1990 for 70%, loss of own current assets and sources of their replenishment.

The main thing that managed to be saved for this period is highly professional labor collective thanks to which we managed to suspend decline in production in 1997 and to increase production in 2004 in comparison with 1996 on a concentrate by 50.7%, on agglomerate for 52.4%. For the fifty-year period the plant produces 619 million tons of a concentrate, 333 million tons of agglomerate, are extracted ferruterous quartzites of 1291 million tons, exported overburden breeds of 446 million mz.
