June 04, 2015. The Navicon company announced project completion on automation of transport and logistic activity of World of the Tool company based on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
Choosing a Solution
The management "The world of the tool" stopped the choice on the MS Dynamics AX 2012 enterprise management system, having invited for implementation of the project of Navicon system integrator.
Goals and Objectives
Starting implementation of MS Dynamics AX 2012, the management of "The world of the tool" aimed to standardize approach to automation of the enterprise. It is about such areas of work as purchases, the transport and logistic sphere, warehouse and financial activity. At the same time already on blueprint stage the possibility of development of a system in the next five-seven years was put.
The company should overcome such problems as duplication of data entry because of use of the different systems in logistics and purchases, null information about actual cost of goods taking into account all overheads, difficulty with management of warehouse stocks. Besides, by means of a new ERP system the customer aimed to organize detailed tracking of supply chains, accounting of settlement with suppliers of goods and services, obtaining planned cost of goods, to automate quality control processes, and in the future - sales management and data acquisition about a financial result of activity of the company within a single system of automation. Also such requirements as multilingualism and ability to integrate with other systems used in the organizations among which there is 1C, WMS 3000, RPAS, FLUX and the Alta-Soft software products were shown to a new system.
A large number of the tasks connected with project implementation and wide territorial scope affected work terms. From the moment of the beginning of project planning to delivery of a system in test operation there passed two years.
Result
Data migration from former accounting systems became interesting feature of the project: the command transferred data on the documents and loads which are en route.
A new system allowed conveniently and is transparent to control purchase and logistics of the goods delivery from the producer to storage locations, including quickly managing change of the delivery schedule at change of external conditions. Now in a system it is easy to determine planned and actual cost of goods, taking into account the various factors influencing it: the prices of purchase, the used method, a route and expenses on delivery, the size of the customs payments and other costs connected with purchase and transportation.
The joint team of the customer and Navicon from about 15 Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 specialists worked on the project. In December, 2014 in "The world of the tool" was trial operation of ERP of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is begun, and since January, 2015 in a system about 70 employees work in the industrial mode, representatives of the company integrator reported TAdviser.
Development Plans
Now active work on maintenance and development of a system is continued. In the next plans – transfer of management accounting of the company to MS Dynamics AX 2012 and also implementation of the new modules ERP: treasury, internal logistics, sales management, personnel management and personnel.

Purchases and logistics are closely connected with customs regulation, difficult logistics chains, management of warehouse stocks. The automation equipment which was available still at our disposal did not cope with repeatedly increased loadings. Transition to use of a modern ERP system became for us a priority task: the solution would allow not only to bring processes to the level corresponding to business scales but also to plan development of the company without thinking about its IT infrastructure".
