Dassault Civil Design for Fabrication

Dassault Civil Design for Fabrication is the system of design of combined constructions for all-civil constructions.

On June 11, 2015 the Dassault Systemes company announced release of industry solution^[1].

The application is focused on spheres of architecture, design of the engineering systems and construction (AEC). Specialists in the field of design, all-construction works and infrastructure construction with this product have an opportunity of closer, accurate and productive interaction during creation of projects of roads, bridges, tunnels, the railroads, highways, dams and other large infrastructure facilities.

Civil Design for Fabrication is developed in cooperation with the Chinese state project company Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (SMEDI), specialists of a joint research and development center in Shanghai.

The Civil Design for Fabrication technology created on the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform offers civil engineers complex approach to design of objects of civil infrastructure which can stretch for distance to 200 km. Functions are supported:

• geopositioning
• preparation of a landscape,
• reuse adaptive 3D - templates,
• automated design of structural components,
• functions of import of data
• functions of the analysis of weight.

All this provides to engineers the necessary environment for fast creation and adaptation of projects of information modeling of construction (building information modeling, BIM) which are completely compatible to the formats of data used in the industry of AEC including the IFC and Omniclas formats.

According to developers, Civil Design for Fabrication will allow to make design process in the construction industry more informed, standardized and exact. The solution for the industry of architecture, the engineering systems and construction is focused on creation of the open platform for productive cooperation between the specialists participating in design and in infrastructure processes, providing a possibility of the balanced development for all global industry of construction of buildings and constructions.
