SuperVessel is a free cloud service on the OpenPOWER platform. The project is created for involvement of the universities, professors and developers in an ecosystem and creations of cloud applicaions[1].
On June 15, 2015 SuperVessel IBM announced start of a cloud service at a conference in Beijing.
SuperVessel represents the open cloud service developed by IBM Research in Beijing and IBM System Labs. It is called "the virtual engine of research and development". IBM reported that SuperVessel is intended for creating applications for analytics, machine learning and Internet of Things.
For SuperVessel processors of IBM, Nvidia and Xilinx are used. The cloud on the basis of which SuperVessel works is created using a set of such processors and software of OpenStack. It is intended for solving of tasks, the Big Data relating to the sphere, to Internet of Things, acceleration and virtualization on the basis of architecture of POWER.
