In a product line "ARMO-Systems" in the summer of 2015 the desktop reader RFID- the Omnikey 5427 CK rev cards appeared. C, created by HID Global company for logical access restriction to computers, web resources and software applications and also for the automated input of codes of RFID cards in different databases. This desktop reader works at frequencies of 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz and is compatible to the access cards used to restriction of pass to buildings/premises. Besides, this reader is automatically determined in OS Windows, Linux and Mac without installation of additional drivers, supports the Keyboard wedge function for safe input of credentials of RFID cards without use of the keyboard and has the corporate CCID interface.
HID Omnikey 5427 CK will recognize the cards working at frequencies of 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz thanks to what this desktop device supports the wide range of identifiers, including HID Prox, Indala, Mifare Classic, iClass and iClass SE. Implemented in 5427 CK double-frequency identification allows to use the desktop card reader to data reception when moving personnel on the enterprise with combined by the ACS or when translating a system from one frequency on another. It is important to note that this reader has a new firmware and provides the increased reliability and performance when reading identifiers of the Mifare DESFire EV1 standard.
The reading-out desktop Omnikey devices allow to limit access to the PC, local and global network and corporate resources. Based on HID 5427 CK it is possible to organize, for example, the authorized input in the Windows/Mac/Linux systems with which it works without installation of additional drivers and also in separate IT applications, for websites and networks. In addition to logical access restriction, the desktop reader can be used for data entry of RFID maps in a DB with protection of user names, their personal data and passwords. At the same time the reader is compatible to the RFID cards used in the systems of physical restraint of access to premises and/or buildings.
The compatibility of Omnikey 5427 CK with any computer environment is implemented via corporate interfaces. The new desktop reader has the interface with CCID (Integrated circuit card interface device) and performs data transmission on the PC under the standard protocol through USB. During the work in a compatibility mode of the keyboard (Keyboard wedge) which is configured via the web interface the desktop reader simplifies process of entering into the system of identification these RFID cards, facilitates work of operators and allows to avoid the errors connected with a human factor. At the same time the reader can accept data in a binary, decimal or hexadecimal format and also in the form of ASCII characters.
The high level of data protection and confidentiality of data 5427 CK provides due to use of corporate SIO technology (Secure Identity Object) thanks to which this desktop reader can execute identification of users not only on the smart cards supporting SIO but also, for example, by mobile phones with the NFC chip (Near Field Communication). Thanks to SIO, the desktop reader provides the model level of protection of access point as SIO "becomes attached" directly to the unique code of the information medium. Such solution excludes a possibility of cloning of the code, certifies all data the digital signature and does the reader almost "impregnable".
For convenience of operation by Omnikey 5427 CK the book vertical holder and fasteners allowing to mount it in any place can be completed with such accessories as the holder for cards. In addition, the desktop reader has the bichromatic LED indicator which provides informing the user on a current status of the device. It should be noted that the reader Omnikey uses the web management tool with the intuitive browser configuration independent of the operating system, and it can be integrated into the third-party software through DTK (Developers Tool Kit).
