Ulmart upgraded IT infrastructure, using IaaS and resources of DPC

On June 18, 2015 the Linxdatacenter company announced creation for online retailer "Ulmart" of IT infrastructure - redundant, geographically distributed, with a scaling option and high fault tolerance.

For June 18, 2015 Ulmart is represented by 29 cybermarkets and 280 points of issue in 190 cities. Their coordination requires scalable IT infrastructure with high fault tolerance.

Specifics of online retail and growth of business Ulmart critically depend on reliability and stability of work of IT systems: breaks in work are inadmissible for a minute. With a task: organize work of the powerful technology platform working synchronously with already existing, providing reliable IT infrastructure, Ulmart addressed several providers from whom selected Linxdatacenter company.

For benefit of Linxdatacenter: existence of two DPCs of the Tier 3 level in the territory of Russia, in St. Petersburg and Moscow, the compliance to requirements and information security standards confirmed with the certificate of ISO 27001.

Project Progress

Linxdatacenter defined a set of services corresponding to project tasks provided uniform SLA for Ulmart company and optimized expenses on the additional hardware by means of use of cloud model.

Communication channels with high capacity and reservation allow replication of data between the technology platforms Ulmart located in two cities, online.

Use of a cloud service of IaaS gave to the customer the chance:

• cut down operating expenses,
• pay service, proceeding from its actual consumption,
• receive the transparent and detailed reporting.

"Specialists Linxdatacenter not only provided in lease of a rack in the data centers and a cloud service IaaS FlexPod, but also organized network infrastructure between DPC Linxdatacenter and acting data center, - noted Alexey Ezhkov, the technical architect Ulmart. - As a result we received the geodistributed failsafe infrastructure with the highest level of availability to the operating productive systems and space for start new".

Creation in DPC of Linxdatacenter of hybrid architecture with placement of the physical equipment and cloud services of IaaS provides to the customer fast deployment of the new systems costs of time and resources for equipment procurement, its delivery, physical installation and setup are reduced. At the same time the enclosed investments into earlier purchased equipment remain, and there is a possibility of the choice when building physical or cloud infrastructure depending on what in each specific situation is the most effective.
