Content

On June 17, 2015, it became known about the implementation of the ABBYY FlexiCapture system by the IT environment of the Irkutsk National Research Technical University[1].

Project objectives

The Irkutsk National Research Technical University has created an information system that consolidates data on student performance and helps to analyze them. But filling the system with information was ineffective. Manual data entry took a long time, and the task of entering information (in a short time) about tests and exams of more than 20 thousand students led to errors.

IrNITU building, 2013

The university decided to implement a system for streaming data from sheets and exam sheets. University specialists chose ABBYY FlexiCapture.

Project progress

For automated entry of student performance results, new forms of examination sheets for tests and exams, sheets of passing and control of course work have been developed. All teachers learned how to correctly fill out new document forms.

The main work on the creation and configuration of the ABBYY FlexiCapture recognition system was completed within two months. The implemented solution operates in 10 large educational divisions of the university.

Project Summary

IrNITU uses ABBYY FlexiCapture to enter data from examination sheets into the university's information system.

"The automation of data entry from exam sheets and sheets has accelerated this process, and university staff can devote more time to solving important problems. In addition, the analysis of student performance now takes place at a "new level of quality": it has become more complete and modern. For example, now students and their parents can monitor their progress online through the university's website, "said the Oksana Soldatova head of the training department. IRNITU
