2015: Red Hat entered the market of mobile software

On June 23, 2015 Red Hat announced entry into the market of the corporate software for mobile devices. As the partner the company selected the world's largest producer Android smartphones Samsung Electronics.

The Mobile Application Platform platform intended for creation of business applications in such areas as analytics, the organization of customer interaction, inventory, maintenance of a product catalog, formation of prices, order processing and the statement of accounts became the first mobile product Red Hat.

Red Hat began to storm the market of software for smartphones and tablets with assistance of Samsung

These programs will work not only at Android which is the main platform for gadgets of Samsung, but also on other operating systems. It is supposed that software created through Red Hat Mobile Application Platform can be integrated with corporate IT systems.

In addition to ready applications, Red Hat and Samsung will offer the tools and resources aimed at the development of a new ecosystem of corporate partners and developers and also support services, including the integrated support, management of corporate mobility (Enterprise Mobility Management, EMM), distribution and support of Red Hat Mobile Application Platform.

At last, Red Hat and Samsung plan active collaboration in an output to the market of the new solutions developed within alliance. At the initial stage partners will focus on the American market, and then will advance cooperation in other countries.

The fact that Red Hat is going to enter the market of mobile software became known in September, 2014 when the company announced purchase of FeedHenry company developing the platform for mobile application development. The cost of that transaction was $82 million.

Samsung — more experienced participant of the market of corporate software for smartphones and tablets. The South Korean company has a special division (Samsung Business) which is responsible for technical support and promotion of software technologies in business, the state, medical, educational sectors and other spheres.[1]
