The control and management system for access (ACS) of Elsys is a complex of equipment rooms and software tools of automation of admission and control of movements of personnel and transport across the territory of an object. The Elsys ACS can work as as a part of the integrated security system Bastion, and is autonomous.

The Elsys ACS allows to manage all types of the automated blocking devices – locks of doors, tourniquets, barriers, gate, gateways, anticollision barriers, parking sliding road locks (bollard). Access controllers, readers, the interface devices, the software are a part of the ACS.

The Elsys ACS is intended, first of all, for equipment of big production facilities of which difficult algorithms of access, existence of a large number of employees, a set of working schedules, different types of ID cards, etc. are characteristic. These features of large enterprises are considered both in hardware implementation of architecture of the ACS, and in functionality of the software. At the same time, existence in the structure of Elsys of different options of execution of the equipment allows to use cost-efficient the ACS on small objects, creating compact and inexpensive access control systems.

Elsys ACS advantages

Access control by various identifiers and types of admissions

The Elsys ACS works with different identifiers (access cards and charms of the standards HID, EM-Marin, Mifare, Motorola, Touch Memory) and also the readers of identifiers working in the Wiegand or Touch Memory formats. All identifiers (admission) in a system are divided into four types - permanent, temporary, one-time and transport. For each of them the independent, configured by the system administrator of access control operation mode is implemented.

With readers keyboards can be shared that allows to organize identification on two signs (the card and the PIN code). Also in the Elsys ACS access algorithms according to several cards – access by the rule of several persons, pass with confirmation or maintenance, pass under duress are implemented.

The Elsys ACS has the flexible built-in system of management of working schedules of staff of the enterprise. Creation of both simple week diagrams, and replaceable diagrams with any frequency to 31 days is possible. It is possible to appoint different powers of movement on an object to every day of the diagram. For each employee or an employee group it is possible to configure special authorities – the setting right to protection, removals from protection, the right to confirm access, pass in the access restriction mode, etc.

High reliability and high-speed performance

Controllers of access have own memory for storage of personal codes of users and their access levels thanks to what the decision on providing permission to pass is made almost instantly after sight cards. In the absence of contact with the computer controllers continue to work according to the settings which are stored in memory. At the same time the minutes of events temporarily remain in the buffer of the controller and are transferred to the server at recovery of communication with it.

High speed of information exchange with the ACS server (up to 115200 bps) allows a system to run smoothly during a peak load period in access points (for example, on factory checkpoints and also during transmission on the communication line of large volumes of data, at initialization of controllers of access).

In the Elsys ACS it is hardwired and the function of prohibition of repeated pass (antipassback) preventing pass according to the admission transferred to other person by the employee who passed inside and also control of an order of passing of the enclosed access zones does not depend on operability of the server.

In a control and management system of Elsys measures are taken for data protection at connection of controllers through a local network. Decoding of the transmitted data requires knowledge of unique key. The key record in controllers happens at setup of a system, it is impossible to read a key or to receive it on network.

Mechanisms of setup of algorithms of pass

In Elsys-MB controllers there is a built-in system of programming of internal logic allowing to adjust a basic algorithm of pass that is especially relevant in such applications as check-points of motor transport, gateways, difficult access modes (with confirmation, according to several cards, etc.). Using the logical interactions programmed by the user (administrator) (as in one controller, and intercontroller) controllers can automatically manage emergency exits, annunciators, emergency lighting and so forth and also any external devices.

Subsystem of a security alarm

The subsystem of a security alarm which is built in Elsys-MB controllers (up to 8 loops on the controller) allows to connect to it annunciators of different types and to perform a comprehensive protection of the premises based on the uniform device. The logic of work of a subsystem of a security alarm is integrated from the ACS and provides management of protection using access cards.

Access controllers

As a part of the Elsys ACS access controllers – two types of controllers - Elsys-MB and Elsys-MB-SM. Elsys-MB controllers are issued in 4 modifications of Light, Standard, Pro, Pro-4 differing in number of managing inputs and exits. Memory of these controllers can be increased using expansion units of memory and store data from 2000 to 160 000 users. Each Elsys-MB controller has the built-in redundant power source which supports operation of the ACS at loss of tension in network.

For simple points of pass like Door as a part of the Elsys ACS there is an inexpensive Elsys-MB-SM controller which is completely compatible to the senior Elsys-MB models, but the number of its inputs and exits is limited and also there is no possibility of reprogramming of logic of work. Memory of the controller has the fixed volume expected 4096 access cards. Elsys-MB-SM controllers work in one system together with Elsys-MB controllers, at the same time global control of repeated pass irrespective of controller model is provided.

Interface devices

For implementation of initial settings, data loadings in controllers and monitoring of events controllers of access should be connected to one of system computers – to the equipment server.

Connection of controllers to the server is possible by three methods:

  • via RS-485 interface directly to USB or COM port;
  • via RS-485 interface to the communication Elsys-MB-Net network controller and further on an Ethernet network to the server;
  • direct connection of each controller on an Ethernet network through network interface unit of Elsys-IP.

Transformers of interfaces Elsys

Transformers of interfaces are used to direct connection of controllers to the equipment server. Each transformer services one RS-485 communication line and requires existence of one free port on the computer. It is possible to connect no more than 63 controllers of access to one communication line.

Transformers of interfaces of two models are a part of the Elsys ACS:

  • Elsys-CU-USB/232-485 – provides connection of the RS-485 communication line through USB port.
  • Elsys-RC-232/485 – provides connection of RS-485 line through RS-232 port. Can work in the mode of the repeater of RS-485 interface for increase in length of the communication line.

Both models of transformers allow to transfer and accept data at a speed up to 115 Kbps.

Communication Elsys-MB-Net network controller

The Elsys-MB-Net Communication Network Controller (CNC) is intended for connection of the RS-485 communication line in which there can be about 63 controllers of access, to an Ethernet network, contact of controllers with the server is executed on network. Elsys-MB-Net is applied when in an installation site of group of controllers there is a local network, and laying of RS-485 line from controllers to the server is inexpedient or impossible.

KSK supports intercontroller information exchange in scales of all ACS network that, in particular, provides implementation of function of prohibition of repeated pass and control of an order of passing of zones of access regardless of an equipment server status

In total as a part of the ACS there can be about 240 KCK Elsys-MB-Net and up to 15120 controllers of access.

Interface module Ethernet

The module Ethernet of the Elsys-IP interface is intended for installation in the body of controllers of access Elsys-MB and allows to connect the controller to a local network directly. In Elsys-MB-SM controllers the module cannot be installed. In total in a system there can be 15120 controllers of access with the modules Elsys-IP.
