Biography
ASUS: 1994-2015
David Chen came to ASUS in 1994, having begun work in finance division which was created in 1989. Within 12 years he was the assistant to the chairman of the board of ASUS Jonney Shih, and in 2006 David Chen became the chief financial executive of the company. In 2013 to his position the head's obligations for marketing were attributed.
2015: David Chen's death
On July 24, 2015 it became known of David Cheng death. He was 50 years old.
According to the Taipei Times edition with reference to the statement of ASUS, on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, David Chen returned from a business trip to China, and already next day in the evening he died in the house. Causes of death are not stated at the request of family of the chief financial officer of the company. It is known that mister Chen was sick during short time.
"Chen worked in ASUS many years and participated in acceptance of a set of solutions, important for firm. The company mourns the sudden tragedy. ASUS hopes that employees will be healthy and to find optimal balance between work and family" — Johnny Chi in the letter told employees.
According to him, David Chen made a big contribution to ASUS after entry of the company into the exchange in 1996 and departments of production division of Pegatron in the 2007th. It possesses a key role in promotion of telephone business of the company. Mister Chen often made the international business trips and accompanied Johnny Chi on many public actions.
During the CES 2014 exhibition in Las Vegas David Chen nearly fainted in the hotel room after carrying out a series of meetings and conferences with the Taiwan colleagues because of a lack of a dream, media reported.
By hearsay, the death of the top manager of ASUS could be caused by organism exhaustion against the background of the strongest overfatigue.
The new chief financial officer of the Taiwan producer is going to be found within several months. ASUS noted that David Chen's death will not affect a company performance, and she will hold a number of the planned events, including the announcement of new smartphones in India and Brazil.[1]
