The new thermal imaging camera is equipped with a Bullet metal case with IP66/IP67/NEMA 4X, an uncooled microbolometric sensor with a resolution of 324x288 pics. and a sensitivity of 50 mK, and may be equipped with a 9 or 19 mm fixed lens, providing a viewing angle of 35 ° and 17 °, respectively. At the same time, the thermal imager generates and transmits over the network video with a resolution of up to Full D1 at 8.3 k/s, supports sound transmission, power supply technology PoE and control of any ONVIF-compatible software product.

Its metal enclosure with IP66/IP67 and NEMA 4X classes provides reliable protection against atmospheric and mechanical effects, and the built-in heater and fan guarantee stable operation of the Q2901-E in the external temperature range from -40 to + 60 ° C even under conditions of 100% air humidity. As an optic, the camera thermal imager can use a 9 mm or 19 mm germanium lens with viewing angles of 35 ° or 17 ° and a depth of sharpness of 2.1 m or 9.5 m, respectively. In addition to the base model equipped with a wall mounting bracket, the thermal imager is modified with a PT Mount housing for installation on a rotary platform and a serial RS422/RS485 port for communication with it.

Detection of a heat radiating object with a temperature of -40 to + 550 ° C, including a person or a moving vehicle, provides a microbolometric matrix of the chamber with a temperature sensitivity of less than 50 mK and a resolution of 324x288 pixels. At the same time, the camera thermal imager allows you to increase software resolution to the Full D1 standard and broadcast up to 3 video streams in M-JPEG and/or H.264 formats (Baseline and Main profile options) with an update rate of 8.3 k/s. Like other AXIS network cameras, the new thermal imager provides access to settings over the network and supports various security mechanisms against unauthorized users.

Easy access to live/recorded video, camera settings and turntable presets can be provided remotely through the interfaces of AXIS Camera Companion standard software, AXIS Camera Station paid software, or ONVIF-compatible software products of other manufacturers. With support for Edge Storage technology and a slot for a standard memory card microSD/SDHC/SDXC up to 64 GB capacity, the camera thermal imager can record video to network storage and/or to a memory card. It is worth noting that together with power supply from DC and AC sources, the thermal imager can be powered using PoE technology through an Ethernet communication cable.

The built-in video analytics package, which detects attempts of unauthorized impact on the camera body and its viewing glass, as well as the appearance of mobile objects in the video monitoring area, allows you to quickly track alarm events in the Q2901-E viewing area. Through the AXIS Camera Application Platform, the camera thermal imager allows you to download optional video analytics modules and, thereby, expand security functionality. In addition, the thermal imager provides for the connection of 2 external security sensors and 2 actuators and an external microphone for audio recording and detection by sound.

Unlike its predecessors, the Q2901-E camera provides accurate temperature measurement at any point in the frame and can generate two kinds of alarms caused by increasing and decreasing the temperature of a monitored object relative to predetermined values. Therefore, in case of too fast temperature change in certain parts of the frame or its deviation relative to preset values, the camera thermal imager will automatically generate and send an alarm signal to the operator. At the same time, this thermal imager transmits an isothermal palette with color emission of zones with the same temperatures for better visual perception by the operator, and also allows you to output temperature data.
