United Metallurgical Company implemented a production scheduling system

On August 19, 2015 it became known of signing by the United Metallurgical Company (UMC) and LOGIS company on June 1, 2010 of the agreement according to which LOGIS will deliver and will implement the system of the innovation planning of productions of three of six enterprises of group: OAO Vyksa Pipe Plant, OAO "Almetyevsk Pipe Plant", Foundry and Rolling Complex.

We should increase continuously production efficiency and to be for our customers a flexible and reliable supplier with a short cycle of execution of orders. The project on implementing solution on the innovation planning continues the long-term strategy of OMK directed to improvement of quality of customer service and increase in efficiency of activity of the enterprise".

In 2009 the implementation project of a system of mid-term planning on the basis of the module SCP from i2 Technologies company came to the end. The solution is used for monthly settlement of the balanced sales plans, production, transportation for pipe products, railway wheels, products of sheet-rolling production. In SCP the need for supply with raw materials is calculated.

The implemented solution helps to estimate quickly different scenarios by drawing up and adjustments of annual and quarter budgets, to estimate the needs for money and to calculate the sales volume and the need for purchases.

In 2010 the company started implementation of processes of the centralized production planning of orders on the basis of the solutions Factory Planner of i2 Technologies company. The project is directed to coordination of activity of divisions of sale, purchases and production for reliability augmentation of accomplishment of orders of consumers.

Implementation of the innovation production planning will help to reduce a cycle of execution of orders without increase of raw material stocks, a WIP and finished goods. Process automation of planning of orders is relevant also in connection with commissioning in 2011 of new rolling mill 5000 in Vyksa that will lead to complication of production routes.
